If you are getting a preferred room at a value resort do you get a fridge at no charge?

No such luck! they're only free if you need them for medical purposes. But you could try to get in on a frig swap. (search threads for one with an opening during your trip) Good luck!

'"Preferred" refers ONLY to the location of the room, like being near the food court ... nothing more. If the general manager of one of the WDW Value resorts was blindfolded and placed into a guest room in their own resort, and if the curtains were closed (so they couldn't see out of the room to determine the room's location), and then the blindfold was removed, they could look around the inside of the room all they wanted, but they wouldn't be able to tell if they were in a preferred room or a standard room.

Dang. Seems like you should get more of a perk than just the location for the extra price! But I have heard the walks can get LONG if you are not in preferred.

Because the walks can sometimes be long, the location is well worth the extra expense!

We stayed at ASMO, got a perferred room, the walk was very short. Which at the end of the night with a sleeping 3 year old was great. I saw how far the standard rooms were and I know I would not want to attempt that walk at midnight when I am just ready to pass out.
We requested a fridge....we actually had two of them(dont know how that happened). One was in the cabinet under TV, the other was off to the side. We were not charged at all. But I am starting to think is because we requested a King size bed...which I think I have read that the value resorts reserve the King Size beds for guest with disabilities. This being said maybe thats why we did not get charged for the fridge...they may have thought someone had a medial reason for a fridge.?

this may be stretching it a bit...do you think that having a 1yr old could possibly get me a free fridge? My baby still needs pretty many ounces of milk per day and he is lactose intolerant so he needs lactaid milk. Any chance? or am I just crazy?

You had more than two people over the age of three in a king-bed room? Interesting...
