Preferred Room request

I just called today to pay the balance on my 10/30 - 11/6 trip. It's the 5 + 2 deal at the Pop Century. CM on call confirmed my itinerary, and I just about dropped the phone when she said standard room.

I'm sure I requested a preferred room when I made the reservation, but I have nothing to show/prove that I did.

She tried to see if any were still available, but there where none. She tried to be helpful but basically said there was nothing she could do, and that I try to all back every so often to see if there is a cancellation.

I have no probelm paying for the preferred room, but does anyone have any other ideas?

Oh, and to make matters worse, my parents who are travelling with us have a preferred room. We both have room requests to have connecting rooms, but there's no way thats goinig to happen now.

I know its not the end of the world, but it shure was a let down.

I would keep calling to check on the preferred room availability.

You do not mention which resort you are staying at, but I would try calling back periodically to see if a preferred room is available. In the Allstars and at the POP there are 2 buildings that are preferred surely something will turn up.
In the meantime you might want to request a building that is close to the preferred building or buildings so that you might be close to your parents.

mjay, I wouldn't fret too much. After staying at Pop in May, I didn't find too much of a difference (other than the $10 per day). We stayed in the 50s rooms and didn't find the walk much different to the main food court than the folks in the preferred section. Call back and request to be in the 50s section, unless there's one even closer. The layout of this resort is not so bad that anyone has a long walk to anything. We loved having the 50s quiet pool right outside our door and the lake on the other side of the building.
