The difference being $440. Is it a no-brainer?! We have stayed at Pop, CBR, POR, & OKW. My boys will be 7 and 12. DH and my oldest are visiting Universal for 1 day mid-trip which is partly why I was looking at values. Originally they were thinking 2 days which is costly. Looks like now only 1 day. I was looking at All Star Sports and thought the boys would love it! The pool looks fun and it's a preferred room. It turns out there is availability at CSR, but I don't know anyone who has stayed there. The beds are queen(BONUS) and the food court looks great and so does the pool. We would be using bus transportation. I should really find the INFO thread and start reading to get an idea of the resort. It is so different from As-Sports that it's hard to wrap my mind around. I had my heart set on POR, but it was a very last minute decision and due to when we travel, there are not a lot of rooms available. Travel is Nov 5-Nov 13th.

CSR (and POR) are great!

Only you can decide if the money is worth it, but the beds are bigger and more comfortable, the bus service is better, and your boys would probably love the pool slide.

If you liked POR you would like CSR. We have stayed at both. The pool area at CSR is really good for big kids. The game room, playground, pool, sand volleyball, fire pit for marshmallow roasting, and bar with food sales is all in the same spot. The slide is long and the pool is big. We really enjoyed that area. There are also more restaurant options in the main lobby building. The landscaping is beautiful and the rooms are nice and relaxing. If you can afford it I would recommend it. We have also stayed at All-Star Sports and Movies which were fun, but we would much prefer a moderate if we can afford it.

I was in the same boat deciding on a preferred at ASMu or regular at Coronado. If I am only paying the preferred rate for the room to be closer to the lobby, I went with Coronado for our next stay. They have more bus stop options, so no need to pay for a closer room. It is also during free dining when we are going so I took that into account of having the "better" dining plan instead of the quick service plan and paying the upgrade ( we wanted to eat at more table service this time, not sure if your time is eligible, but it helped our decision making). It was $63 more to go with Coronado. It comes down to what you want the preferred room at All Star for.. Either way you will be happy just to be there!!

Great question. :thumbsup2

But honestly the preferred rooms at the Allstars, are really about the location to the resort amenities. Like lobby/concierge, food court, arcade, gift shop and main pool area. :earsboy:

If one really need that convenient closeness to those resort functions and offerings, it's a must to consider.

As far as theme and ambience goes, Coronado Springs is hard to beat. The morning stroll from the Casitas to breakfast, or the sunset over Lake Dorado with the Cabanas dotted along the perimeter is stunningly beautiful.
:beach:

And bus transport is very regular and convenient, with a few stops around the resort, due to the spread out area of the property.

The pool is a one of a kind, in my opinion. The Mayan pyramid and the slide down it are awesome! :yay:

:tinker:

CSR is a beautiful resort but I would stay at a value in a preferred room first before staying at CSR in a standard room. We stayed at CSR in a standard room once and got stuck out in the boonies in the Ranchos section. Fine if you want to be close to the main pool, not fine if you want to be closer to the main buildings.
