Preferred BW view waitlist...

I have a reservation at the end of Oct. We have a preferred BW view on some of the nights, and preferred view on other nights. We're waitlisted on those nights for the BW view. If the waitlist doesn't come through, could I decline the BW view on check-in rather than change rooms back and forth? Has anyone done anything like this?

Since that is a guaranteed reservation catagory, I doubt you can do that.

Because I think most people would give up PV for BW view, it is certainly possible that rather than switching (and DVC picking up the tab for room cleaning each switch) that you could just stay put. If your waitlist doesn't come through, I might suggest you call a few days before, ask to speak with Alfredo maybe (day manager) and explain that it might be easier for you to stay PV and less expensive for DVC to clean extra rooms.

I am in a similar sitch...SV the first night, 2 nights of BW and back to SV the last night. I don't want to give up my BW view...but I am solo and it won't be hard to pack up and move. Of course, if DVC wants me to stay put...I'd be glad to stay put in the BW room!!!

Oct. 29th-Nov 16th. Just added the last day yesterday. At this rate I may still be there into Dec. I need Oct. 30,31, and Nov. 4, then I'll have half the stay in BW view, and half not. This is my first trip in a few years due to the little guy on the bottom of the page, and I didn't know anything about the BW view when we booked the room exactly at the 11 month mark.

As for the rest of your post goes, I figured they would work with me since the BW view is in higher demand.

Alfredo (my favorite BWV CM) actually offered us the option of staying in preferred for a whole week instead of switching from BW view, so I am sure that he will do the same for you IF preferred view is available. Since Oct. is pretty much booked at BWV, I wouldn't count on it, but it never hurts to ask. And calling ahead may improve your options.
