Hoping to get a standard view at the BWV for next summer later this week. Was wondering if there were any areas that are better than the others. We are trying to avoid the last bus stops (packed busses), but we also would like a room close to the pool and all the resteraunts.

Any suggestions?

I think standard view at BWV is all going to be similar as far as proximaty to restaurants and bus. All the BWV standard view rooms are fairly close together on the same side of the resort, so near the bus stop and at least across the building from the pool. Does BWV have more than one bus stop?????

Diane is right in that all standard rooms overlook the parking lots and front entrance to BWV so it will depend on which end of the long hallway you are as to how far you are from the pools/restaurants. There is only one bus stop at BWV but the bus is shared with other resorts so it may be the last stop on a route. The one time we stayed there it was the last stop and usually standing room only but I think they have decreased the number of resorts so it may be better now. At that time it included Swan. Dolphin, Yacht and Beach and Boardwalk. I tried to copy a map so you could see the layout from another thread but am obviously not doing something right.

The only BW bus stop is actually on the BWI side of the resort in the front of the buildings and easy to get to. There are no busses to Studios or Epcot (you either walk or take a boat to those). Any standard view room will be close to a pool as long as you don't mind walking down stairs. The elevators are near the lobby and from there you have easy access to the main pool. As you head down the corridor of standard views you get further and futher away from the elevators and main pool and then are near the quiet pool which you can easily reach by going down stairs rather than walking all the way back to the elevators

like it at the end - there is a steam - so get my water view - plus you can go down some steps - out one door it is the quiet pool - same steps different door - and then another door - and it is a short walk to the buses or hess for that matter your car.

some of the ones close to the elevators - are also the main driving entrance. so they can be noisey

Only one bus stop

There are basically two categories of request for standard view - high/low floor and close to/far from elevator. The fireworks are better higher and farther, the theme pool is more convienent lower and closer. If you can take stairs, farther isn't bad (but higher becomes a lot of stairs), if you don't like stairs (strollers, ECVs, bad knees) closer is better.

The only time I've ever had a request met at Boardwalk is this last trip - when I requested two rooms close to one another and had them next door - but had tagged the request with the note that this was my sister's cancer recovery trip. Normally, if we ask to be close to the elevators, we discover where the stairs by the tennis courts are....if we want a high floor, we find out how nice it is to be able to walk out to the pool without stairs or an elevator.......Boardwalk is not the best resort for having requests met.

When I book boardwalk standard view, I request top floor, across from the bus stop. Always had that pretty much met, usually closer to the end of the building near the pond. Great fireworks view.

When I was there last week, I had boardwalk view, I requested top floor and got 4th floor (5 is top), not too bad.

There is only 1 bus stop. It is usually the first stop, then it goes to Swan & Dolphin. I only used it once to MK last week.

We stayed at BWV a few weeks ago and used the busses for all of our trans needs.

For MK and AK the bus will also stop at the Swan and then the Dolphin before continuing onto MK/AK. On the way back from MK, the bus stopped at BWV first.

None of the BWV busses stopped at the Yacht or Beach Club resorts.

See Post #34 by LisaS on this thread to get better idea of what pps are referring to regarding standard view room locations.

We stayed in standard view 3rd floor this past July closest to end of building where you see walking path along the lawn just above the canal in lower right of photo and we took stairs as well to get to parking lot & same stairs as well but door on quiet pool side to that&community hall; as spiceycat has posted this stairwell takes you to these 2 locations very quick & easily. We liked the view here as well because the lawn was very wide at this point & we could see the small canal (with lots of ducks!) that is separating the resort from the parking lot areas too.

Hmmm a lot to consider. I think I'll just say, give me a standard view, and I'll be done with it :)

Next question, if you ask for a certain set of room numbers, will the CM try to accomidate you with those?

Overall we are just hoping to get BWV with standard view. Thanks for all your help.

You'll see from the map that the view gets better, the further you go down the long hallway.

WDW is really, really rough on my flat feet, so I really, really don't like the long hallways. On our last trip, our studio was at the bend of the hall, 3085? maybe. Anyway, it was perfect for me.

To our left was pretty much a front entrance/hot bell boy view, and the rooms to our right had a very large lawn. I told DH that I would have liked the lawn view, but was so happy that I didn't have to walk as far to get it. (Our room was a very happy compromise.) Perfect!

Now our boardwalk views...we've always needed to pack a lunch and strow bread crumbs. I swear that hallway is from the twilight zone. The next time DH says good we are in the "Crest 'O the Waves" section, I'm going to slap him. :scared1: (Not literally - but would like too.)

The more general the request, the better the chance you have of getting it met. Since we once asked for "non-smoking, high floor" and got a first floor smoking room - (back when there were such things) - I'd recommend very general.....
