I just renewed my Preferred AP and it went up from $159.74 (including tax) to $170.39 (including tax)...not a huge increase but an increase all the same.

Just thought I would share.

Yup, same here. Base price is now $159 instead of $149.

Hmmm, I'll be down there when my AP expires May 7th and had thought about renewing it. However, I also have one of those 99.00 two park 7 day tickets that Universal was offering back last winter. I thought about letting my current AP expire when I'm there in May (will be going from WDW to Universal May 1st and 3rd). Then I could just trade in that $99.00 ticket when I go back in Sept for a new AP. I go to Orlando 4-5 times a year though, so could always use the $99.00 ticket some other time. Which would be the better deal?:confused3

We have the same thing. But I figured if I don't renew and then they jack up the annual price again, it is going to cost me more in the long run if I decide to get the AP again next year. This way, at least it is cheaper than the full price AP. I'll save the other ticket when another family member needs it.

I let my AP's expire in December since I thought I would not return for a while longer due to my injury in 2009. Now that its got better we are getting new AP's with the flex pay this time.:thumbsup2 The last time we renewed in 2009 it was around $132 per pass for the renewal.

I'm glad to discover that Universal offers a nice discount for AP renewals! I just bought my first AP (non-FL resident) earlier this year knowing that I have at least 3 trips to Orlando this year. Having a significant discount for renewal will increase my chances of renewing it at the end of the year. :goodvibes

i figured they would do an increase this year.
i renewed mine in february since i was told the increase would be effective on March 1st when i called.

i still had 2 more months valid on my ap but did it early.

not bad of an increase, only $10.
could have been worse.

Wonder how much my Flex Pay will go up...I just went Month - to - month this month.....will have to check on that

Sure would be nice if Universal did the same thing SeaWorld does...they don't raise your AP rate as long as you continue to have an active AP.
