Prefer laptop or regular computer?

I have both and recently just added a new desktop to my set up (bringing me to 2 desktops and 1 laptop). The laptop is great for when I want to do things in other rooms, yet have internet connection... also great for travel.

We have a total of 4 desktops and 1 laptop that are hooked up and running on a regular basis (2 others that are total "spare")... sadly just for the 2 of us at the moment

My favorite is the laptop, I miss it so! (DH took it overseas with him.) The PC is great - we use it for games and whatnot - but I mainly surf the Internet. And I miss being able to sit in front of the TV and watch crappy VH1 specials and surf at the same time! (Wireless, of course!)

All our periphials (sp?) are plugged into the PC.

LOVE MY LAPTOP!

We have wireless, as well, so I can sit anywhere in the house or outside nad work on stuff. I can also print to the desktop, and such. There is nothing I can't do on the laptop that I can on the desktop, because we are connected... =)

And yes, about half of the students in each of my classes use laptops to take notes and such. We are paperless in lots of my courses, with syllabi being emailed or posted online, so I don't have to keep up with them, and i can usually just email my papers to my profs.

I was thinking about looking into the wireless connection. I bet that would be neat to be able to go outside and be online.

I prefer laptop (and I'm a woman!). Everything is wireless, the card is built into my laptop too. I even use the printer from my laptop. I scared dh the other night when he was on the desktop and I started printing something from the bedroom! LOL! When we were looking at houses and I was 1200 miles away, dh was able to hook up the webcam to his laptop and show me houses! I even met our neighbor that way! He wanted to see what dh was doing! LOL! We have 3 desktops and 2 laptops. Yup, computer nerds!

Well seeing as how we don't own a laptop, the answer is obivious...desk top............but that is not to say that if we did have a laptop that it would not get the vote DS#1 desperately wants a laptop

I'm liking the laptop now. We have both but DH has me hooked on the laptop. I like the versatility of going from room to room. Plus you still have all the features of a regular desktop computer. Digital pictures, printer hook-up, mouse connection (yes I'm use to using the mouse), zip drive, music, and still have lots of memory space etc...
It's fun!!

My DH has a laptop but I prefer a regular desktop computer.

I like both. Starting to get use to the laptop. It's DH's, I'm use to using the desktop. I do like the convenience of going from room to room using the laptop computer. I bet a lot of kids have laptops. Makes ya wonder if desktop computers will eventually be a thing of the past in about 10 yrs or so? Hmmmm.....

i have both and i like both. i like the desktop for gaming. i like the laptop when i have to do work at home (that way i can do it in bed or while watching tv).

Sounds like what you want is a laptop with a docking station. That way you can plug a full size monitor and keyboard into it when working in your office or at home, and undock it to take it on the road. Most top end laptops come with docking stations as an option.

Yes, I like this idea. The best of both worlds.

I definitely prefer my laptop over desktop. I haven't used my desktop in months.

I thought about getting the docking station. We were just looking into the docking station for the laptop.
