Predictions on Skyliner Expansion

Could definitely see them wanting to link something like All Star and perhaps Coronado in the future. Perhaps something to the Animal Kingdom park? I hope they don't go too crazy with it - just our opinion, but the whole thing just looks like big electrical towers and wires and is an eyesore at many locations. That being said, we know it's popular with many and I have no doubt with how they've routed the current lines, they're at least thinking of the expansion option moving forward. I expect the pandemic put the brakes on any short-term plans, but they'll get back to it again at some point.

I think the parks would be the focus. Maybe a hub at world drive and Buena Vista drive.
Then have a line to AK area - Coronado springs, all stars, Bizzard beach.. ....then line to MK Area

There’s an almost-perfect layout between Animal Kingdom, Coronado Springs, and All-Stars, meeting up in the Blizzard Beach parking lot. I could see that happening at some point, if they find value in it.

Can theoretically connect to the existing system with a BB to DHS line (with a “turn station” in the DHS parking lot).

There’s buildable land north of Animal Kingdom. They could build a resort there with a skyliner station, then a back gate into AK and develop the land north of Asia.

Then they could connect from back of AK to Epcot or the TTC with a waystation at Coronado. They could also run a line to Blizzard Beach, and from there a line around the back of Studios to connect to Pop and AoA. Could also run a spur to the all stars.

Not sure about how buildable the land is, but AKL to AK to CSR to YCR would be awesome, because you could walk/boat to EPCOT from YCR and easily hop on the other Skyliner line to Hollywood Studios.

Not sure if it's an issue with the wildlife, but it would be VERY cool to have the Skyliner give you new views of AK's Pandora, as well as the savannahs at AK/AKL.

Not likely they'd ever consider building a line over any of the parks or near the savannah's at AKL, mostly due to the emergency access requirements I'm sure they have to plan for. Can't imagine mid-afternoon emergency vehicles heading into a park and/or anywhere near where the animals live, to remove people from a stuck Skyliner car.

You're right, of course. Flying directly over would be a no go. But if you flew directly over it you likely wouldn't get a very good view anyway! Fifty yards away would still be close enough to see into AKL savannah areas through the gondola windows.

All due respect to what you are saying and looking for - and you're right. Could be fascinating views. But as a long-time AKL lover who enjoys the peaceful feel and vibe, running the Skyliner anywhere in the site lines of AKL guests would be a disaster for the overall enjoyment! Just a different perspective on AKL and a potential Skyliner station. For the most part, Disney has done a really good job of keeping the Skyliner out of site from their deluxe resorts (with the exception of Riviera, where it's a "perk"). I hope they respect AKL the same way.

Understandable. I think even though I would love an AKL Skyliner station (it's our home resort) the resort is pretty spread out between the two separate sections and I'm not sure where they'd add it to make the walk reasonable (but I'm not good with spatial measurements/relationships in general so, grain of salt)

The only think I could think of would be back of AKL parking area, where it's closest to Kidani? I think if it ran south, over the bus stations and south of the pool area, it could work. I think the foliage near that southern savannah is developed enough that it would block the majority of the Skyliner. Maybe?

The yellow is the savannah areas, the red circle is where the animal management building is--which you can't see from the savannah view rooms. Only a crude drawing, of course ;)

I'm sure they're considering AK/AKL options! They definitely seem focused on the resorts that were buses only transportation, like AoA, PC, CB... That's why I expect All Stars and CS make sense. Could see another hub station to change lines at that 90 degree turn on the way back to the International Gateway entrance, and that might fit nicely to include CS and AS.

I wonder if a station at Disney Springs might make sense at some point?

The shorter the run, the less costly (and less parking lot disruption). Ideally they’d run it from near the Jambo House bus stop to parallel the DAK bus area.

At the end of the day I think this has to add up to cost savings for Disney moving people, and wherever the AllStars->DAK line ended up would dictate where a potential AKL line would meet up.

Just pointing out that any skyliner station at AK would be outside the turnstiles. Looking at the map above it would easily skirt around much of AK without destroying the illusions.

From the AK stop a line to CSR would also skirt the park. Depending on what they wanted to do, they could arrange the line so that tempting glimpses of some of AK would be visible.

I think the route that most people are suggesting-AKL to AK, would be great. And I'd love if it somehow included the YC/BC. When I stay at BCV, my favorite resort, I always have a bad experience with taking the bus to AK. How nice it would be if I could take the skyliner.

I’d like a link from the Epcot resorts to Disney Springs. Busses are always a pain there.
