Predictions for April 2019!

Trying to plan a trip for my whole family (13 people), and am looking at April 2019. Some first timers, others who have been once or twice, and I've been a few times. Coming from New Zealand so this would be a once off for a big, whole family trip.

I know we dont have any firm details - but would you predict that Star Wars land would not be open yet? I am hoping to get the trip in before it opens and everywhere goes crazy!

Next prediction request - if Easter weekend is April 19th -22nd that year, is it likely that the Spring Break crowd will be there the week before and after that?

Looking at going for about a week, sometime between 6th April and 28th April - but just trying to work out best time to enjoy Easter festivities but avoid the worst of the crowds (knowing that there is no such thing as predictable 'low crowds' these days!).

Any suggestions or educated predictions much appreciated!!

Jury is still out on SWL. If it comes out SWL will open summer 2019 you're solidly safe in April.

Yes. Spring break will start mid-March and continue through the week of Easter Monday.

Personally, I'd opt for earlier in April vs later. Since you want to go this month the sooner you go the less like SWL is open.

Peak Spring Break tends to be two weeks prior to and after Easter, with the week just preceding and just following the holiday being the most crowded. One advantage to visiting during Spring Break is extended hours, nightly entertainment (usually), and extra staffing. Without Spring Break, DLR is back to non-peak scheduling, so shorter hours, lower staffing, more refurbs, and limited entertainment schedule.
There have been some other recent threads on this forum regarding the same question about planning around SWL opening. Lots of speculation. Do a search to see if you can find any more helpful info.

My guess (and it's just a guess) is that with Easter being so late into April that the bulk of the Easter activities will end on Easter itself (or perhaps the Monday following). So if you wanted the best chance of enjoying any of the Easter activities (although those are pretty limited - perhaps the egg-stravaganza, some merchandise and decorations, and some dining options on Easter itself) you'd need to go before Easter Sunday. (Note that they haven't announced the Egg-Stravaganza for this year (yet), so it's hard to say what will happen in 2019.)

I've been on the last weekend of April many times and it is a great time to go. I don't think Star Wars land will open until the end of May at the earliest so that should not be a concern.
