Pre Trip Stress

After months of planning we will finally be heading out of Manchester on Wednesday. Due to the weather I have booked a hotel at the airport for Tuesday, so it will be an early finish from work pick up the kids from school and off over t'big hill to Manchester.

This weekend has been hell. The weather, worst week at work, loads of family guilt for going away at Christmas & New Year & our 40th birthdays. Topped off by the usual annual 2 hour hunt for the travel plug, chargers for DSs, phones etc etc, kids who leave it to the last minute to tell you their clothes don't fit/ need washing/ need finding. To top it off Mrs. F has just broken her little toe on the suitcase.

I will be rocking gently and talking to myself by the time I get on the plane Wednesday.

But a big thank you to everyone on this site for the ideas and help make this trip a hopefully a really special one.

Have a great Christmas & New Year folks and while we are away sort the bloody weather out!!

Jon, planning a trip can be a bit like planning a wedding. It all feels like too much to cope with right at the very end so everything that happens feels exaggerated 10-fold. Once you are on the plane it doesn't seem so bad anymore .... if you even remember the little hassles at all by then!
