Cathy, those bows & shirts are adorable! Maddie would love for me to make her some bows, but I'm clueless. :confused3 Would you mind sharing the wealth of bow making knowledge with me? Or steering me in the right direction? Thanks! :goodvibes

Hi Tracy!:yay:
I am sure if you google "hair bows" you can find a site to tell you step by step. I am going to tell you how I learned to do it but I don't know if its right. Works good enough for me.;)

You need scissors and bow wire (I found it at Michaels). I picked two kinds of ribbon that coordinate and I found Mickey buttons but anything you want to put in the middle will work. I attached it with a hot glue gun but regular fabric glue would work too. You also need a clip or barrette.

OK I wrapped three loops of ribbon around my hand plus had two 4 or 5 inch "tails" of ribbon extra. I carefully took my hand out from between the ribbon loops and tied bow wire tightly around the middle. This made two sides with three loops each. I pull and separare the loops. I cut the end of the tails so they are neat. I repeat with the other ribbon. Next I tie the two ribbons together and attach to a clip or barrette using the bow wire. Finally I glue the decoration in the middle. And whaaalaaaa....instant hair bow! :cutie:

You crafty little thing! ;) I'm going to use your way as it's the simplest and I know what they're "supposed" to look like! Gonna try it this week! Thank you, thank you, thank you! :yay:

Good evening Disers around the world :goodvibes

So today marks ONE WEEK till our much anticipated trip to WDW!!!
:cool1: :thumbsup2  :dance3: :cheer2: :rockband: :jumping1: :charac2: :rainbow: :dancer: :donald: :goofy: :mickeyjum

Goodness I am going to use up my allottment of images before I even get started on this installment.:rotfl:

So this weekend I started laundry :laundy: and cleaning (as usual) and I had my packing list ready. My DH got his suitcase out and that really set the whole sequence in motion.....when suddenly I found myself starting :rolleyes1 to put things in bags. One thing led to another and I next thing I know....I am officially packing. Is it too soon?? I mean its a whole week early??? Oh well :rolleyes1 The only good thing is I have a week to figure out if anything is missing :rotfl:

Now I am going to put out some food and in the installment below, I will go into great packing detail as promised. However, it may be really too boring for most people...just skip it if this applies to you.

Has anyone had a DQ Blizzard? Well today I went down to our local mall...its outdoors and I picked myself up a yummy treat! So I figured all my Dis friends would want some....I ordered a few extra....just select your favorite blend in and enjoy! Course popcorn and soda are available too popcorn::

:rotfl2: No worries, Cathy! I'm pretty much packed myself and I've got 2 months yet!! :lmao:

Yay!! :yay: I love details!!!

Awww... you're so sweet! I'm watching my diet, so I'll just have a little popcorn. Fat free you say? Perfect! popcorn::

Hello again...hows the Blizzard so far???

So I have never packed like this before and I won't be able to tell you if it works or not till we get back. So heres what I did. I have three suitcases which get progressively smaller (they nest). Since we have 7 days to pack for, I made the largest suitcase for Mon, Tues and Wed. I made the middle size for Thurs and Fri. And I made the smallest one for Sat and Sun. My DH is packing his sc separately from ours.

What I am hoping for is we can fill each suitcase with dirty clothes as the week goes on then zip it up. I will sort of be packed by the end of the week. I am thinking this will work better than each person working out of their own suitcase. Also, I am already noticing with the bags that the clothes stay together, are neater and can't move in the sc. I am hoping they won't get as messed up being in the bags. Plus each kid knows what to wear since its an entire labeled outfit. And the extra outfits are already bagged (waterproof) and ready to go into the Park Daybag. I am hoping this will save time getting ready for each day once we are there.

Now what I did was use our itinerary to pick out what outfits we were wearing. Plus I had to pack extras for each day for each child. Then I bagged entire outfits for each kid. Well actually I ironed and carefully folded outfits then bagged them. The bags are labeled with the child's name and date and morning or evening or extra, whatever the case may be. Finally I pushed the air out of the ziplock bag as best I could and sealed it.

Now what this means is DD2 and DD3 have 2 or 3 outfits a day! And DD9 (who hasn't packed yet) will probably have 2/day like myself. Thats a lot of packing!
Here is a pic of the empty suitcases and a pile of bagged clothes!

IMGP3014.jpg

Below is a pic of the largest suitcase. It has DD's clothes in it already. In the top part I have "first aid kit" with medicine and bandaids and "suncare kit" with sunscreens of all sorts. In the manilla envelop I have my "Dis decorating kit" with tape, ribbon, scissors, LGMH and signs.

IMGP3017.jpg

In the middle size sc, I have Thurs and Fri clothes. In the top part I have "pool fun" stuff like a blow up ring, small squirt guns and a spill-proof bubble blowing kit. I dont know if it will stay in there, but I also packed our fan mister and "cleaning kit" with sponge and dish soap and clorox wipes.

IMGP3018.jpg

In the small sc, I have Sat and Sun stuff. The top part is dedicated to hair stuff...scrunchies, barettes, and the like. I also hung the hairbows I made on a small hanger and put it in a baggie too. I am keeping them hanging until the last minute so they dont get all wrinkled.

IMGP3019.jpg

Now in the carry-on (#1)below I have the kids' fun stuff. We have markers, crayons, books, DVD player, DVDs, activity pads of all types, stuffed animals, hand-held games, lollipops, and princess jewelry. And probably more stuff I can't think of..:rotfl:

IMGP3016.jpg

In carry-on #2, which is our daybag for the parks, there is less stuff for now. It has a ton of pockets around the outside and some inside. I have my "bumpack", Disney tickets, my laminated itinerary, and some empty sip cups. Notice the empty blue bag to the right. Its an insulated bag for our water while in the parks. It folds up nicely when not in use.

IMGP3020.jpg

Now the only thing not pictured is my back pack which is still at school. This is for diapers, wipes, and change of clothes and swim suits. Also snacks for the plane. :thumbsup2

And thats about it. I think anyways :confused3

Now if the sc's get too heavy we may have to make a separate one for the following: snacks for the hotel room, swim diapers and pullups, wipes and all of the toiletries. However DH thinks he will have no problem fitting them in his suitcase.

One final latebreaking development:

DH's friend John (but not his daughter) will be meeting us at POR Monday!! :cheer2: He said he would stop and get us water and whatever else we need since we dont have a car to go shopping. I think he is only staying one night but I am not sure. His daughter ended up going out of the country but I am sooo glad he is joining us for a short time! :thumbsup2

I am truly amazed by your organization. Are you like this in all aspects of your life or just your disney trips?

I suddenly feel the need to organize my closets:rotfl2:

You are going to have a wonderful time...enjoy

Wowzer is all I can say....look at that organization. DH would be thrilled if I was like that at home.

How exciting one more week. We have 48 more days and my dd cannot wait to take her auntie for the first time.

It just took a few days. I absolutely love the bows and think the outfit packing is too smart. Thanks for the tips, and enjoy the last few days before your trip!

I love your packing skills...I think I will be the same way when we have kids...you are super organized and it will really pay off while you are there! I can't believe your trip is so close!!! :cloud9:
