Pre-Trip Report for Three Princesses and a June Trip to the World, 6/24 We're Back!!

Cathy, your girls are simply adorable! :cutie:

I completely agree with you about being nervous before a vacation. I do not what it is...maybe its more like nervous excitement. Whatever it is, I know I am feeling it too!!

How is your packing going? I know I need to repack my suitcase..I keep finding more clothes and need to rearrange! :rotfl2: :rolleyes1

This is our last full week before we leave!! I cant wait!!

Cathy!! How is it that I have not found this loverly pre-TR??? I'm so sorry, I'm so late! :flower3: The good thing is, I'm here less than 2 weeks until blast off! I'm hooked! Your ptr is fantastic and your family is beau-tee-ful!
You got me thinking about switching resorts to POR from POFQ. I know...:sad2: But V's and Jo's pics are sooooooo pretty & the Bayou section looks right up my alley! I'm looking forward to reading all about your take on the resort. I've got some time to try and switch! :teeth:

And to the rest of you.... Jo, Deb, V, Jen, Jen, Tera, Daisy, and anyone else I may have skipped.... shame for not sending me over here sooner! 21 Lapu's for all of you! :drinking: :rotfl:

Hey!! I resemble that comment! :rolleyes1

Bwhahahaha!!!! Me and The Enabler just about choked on our tea when this pic showed up!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

:cheer2: :welcome: Hello Tracey....so glad you could stop in and chit chat :hyper2: with us. Just so you know...I have a special plate of brownies with your name on it...so help yourself! Everyone has to get their own plates or else pirate: trouble brews :stir: :rotfl:
Someone said something when I was considering switching resorts. They said they don't mind the crowds, noise and lines etc at the parks but when they returned to the resort, they liked  the peacefulness of the shaded pathways of AB. They had me at "don't mind".:yay: So Dawn Maree and I will let you know how it works out.
:thumbsup2 Thanks for the compliments on the girls...that pic cracked me up too!

...and you still haven't visited mine! Or maybe you have and it was too boring for you! :lmao:
Nonsense Dawn....your trippie is awesome!!!!!:cool1: :thumbsup2 I don't know about you but I sometimes have trouble keeping up with all of my subscribed threads but if I had my druthers, I would read everyones. :goodvibes

Cathy supplies the goodies - popcorn, cookies, ice-cream, you name it! I'm ashamed to say I didn't want to share with yet another DISer. :guilty:

;)

Glad you're here Tracy!! :woohoo:

Guess what...in honor of Rah'Rah's talent show today, I made everyone yummy brownies! They are warm and chocolatey...and everyone gets as much as they want! Find your plate with your name on it. Of course we have milk or tea/coffee to drink. However, Tracy seems to have discovered more Lapu Lapu's, so, if you are inclined.....help yourself to those! Thanks Tracy!

You know what.... you're right! I haven't! I'm a bad focker. :sad2: But, I will make it over there and read it all this week....all 5000 posts! I seriously need to get on the TR's in the first few pages! :lmao:

I know! And she has flapjack breasticle cookies! :rotfl2:
;)

DM has two threads.....read the one that is personally hers:thumbsup2

My PTR is not that long :rotfl2: ! Oh, those "suggestive cookies" were from me. No one but me gets credit for those! Hmm...was that such a good idea to claim credit for those? :lmao:

Not unless you resemble them...:rotfl2:

I hope I start getting less nervous and more excited :rolleyes1
As far as packing goes, I have started in my mind and on paper....does this sound familiar DEB?? The problem is that if I pack 13 outfits, there wont be much left for the girls to wear for the next two weeks :laundy:
So I am hoping when I do pack it all fits in three suitcases, plus a forth just for DH, two carryons, and three fanny packs. I have two packing tips I am following just cause it sounds like it will work for my family. Course you'll have to read my packing installment later this week to find out what they are!! :rotfl2:

I hate that nervous feeling. I mean, what do we possibly have to worry about? We are going to Disney World! But we do worry. And the day of the trip is the worst. My stomach is all in knots until we actually get on the plane and go. I'm always thinking and rethinking about what I forgot. I will not be packing any clothes until the day of as we just don't have that many clothes to not wear. The boys have school right up until the day we leave so I will be doing laundry the morning that we leave to make sure we have it all.

So today's count is 12 days! Why am I getting nervous? Is it just me? I think this vacation is one of the most anticipated events...... kinda like giving birth. You wait and wait and wait and suddenly its time!!!!

And now it's 8 days!!! :woohoo: The nervous part is totally normal, I can assure you. I got into a state of panic in the last few days before our last trip (as you know!) - I never want to be like that again. :sad2: It's normal to be nervous, but I was pulling my hair out. You're prepared - that makes all the difference Cathy, you'll have no need for all-nighters and nervous breakdowns the night before your trip, like yours truly. :lmao: I remember posting on the TGM forums that I had no packing done and I had to clean the whole house and I was really nervous but everyone replied "ah, you just think that, believe me, you're ready" and I kept trying to say "no honestly, I'm NOT". :rotfl: I spent 9 months planning the trip - all the finer details - but didn't bother to pack or buy all those essentials. How daft is that? You're gonna have a ball - it's such an amazing place, as you know. I can almost smell the popcorn on Main Street and feel the atmosphere in World Showcase - and you'll be there soon - bliss!!! :cloud9:

Hang on a sec! If it was 12 days on June 1st, how come your sig says 13 days now? Are you doing Tracy's Fuzzy Disney Math? :lmao:

Cathy I totally agree with the packing thing, if I packed 2 weeks in advance we wouldn't have a thing to wear :rotfl2:

Laundry that morning?? Are you sure you'll have enough time to do laundry and pack and load up the car and get the kiddos???? It would make me feel much better :rotfl: if you were packed at least one day ahead of time.....:laundy: Course that's just me...perhaps you are a quick packer unlike me. For some reason it takes me a long time :rolleyes1

First off Deb, I take forever to pack as I stated above. I think its because I am debating what I think I will need vs taking too much. Its a real battle pirate: and the new airline guidelines don't help. Then I gotta weight the stupid bag when I am done. :sad2: If I were just packing for myself, it would be easy as pie. But I am trying to predict the future for the kids...will it rain, sleet, hail, be really hot...will the kids spill, throwup, have other "accidents"? Will I have enough first aid supplies, meds for stomach problems, headaches, allergic reactions? Then there's the games, toys etc to keep busy during wait times at restaurants. Do I have enough but not too much? :upsidedow Oh my goodness I am rambling here but you know what I mean

Second, you really snagged me on the 12 days thing. I meant to type in 17 not 12. :sad2: Opppppss. Thanks so much for noticing that. :flower3: So I fixed it up. Even still I dont count today or the last day so right now its 12 though my ticker says 13. :wizard:

Cathy I totally agree with the packing thing, if I packed 2 weeks in advance we wouldn't have a thing to wear :rotfl2:

:rotfl: I am separating outfits I think I will take from those I am not. For the little ones, it doesn't leave much behind....since you have to double everything. :rotfl2: For myself, I am bringing one outfit per day plus a few extra for dinner and hanging by pool. Thats it. Gosh I hope all this stuff fits!!!!! :headache:

Hello all, I see the brownies are all gone! :thumbsup2 Tonight we are making milk shakes so let me know what flavor is your favorite. I also made a fresh fruit salad for those of you who can't handle the milk! ;)

So the other evening I was purusing the Dis :disrocks: and I stumbled upon a thread about making custom Disney clothing for children. OMGosh was it amazing...such cute creations. Very inspiring! So...I of course had to try my hand at making some custom shirts for our day at Animal Kingdom. I also decided to make some bows for DD2 and DD3's hair. I imagine they will be wearing it up alot as we tour since it will be hot! I am finishing the hair bows tonight and starting the shirts. As soon as I am finished, I will post some pics. Unless they turn out badly. :guilty:

So that's about it for today. I gotta get busy with my chores and duties to "earn" some creative time later!!!! :dance3: Hope you all have a terrific evening and/or day! :flower3: :rainbow: :jumping1: So official countdown today is 12 more days....no really it is 12 days this time!!! :rotfl2: :jumping3: :bounce:

Yup! No worries. The boys will be off to school that day by 8:50 am but they will be returning by 11 am. We don't need to be to the airport until about 4:30 pm so I have plenty of time! I will have most things out and ready anyway though.

OHHHHH ok now I see....I thought you were leaving at 11am when you picked up the kids. (I was thinking it will take till then to finish the laundry...:rotfl: )

Oooh I'll have strawberry please :)

Coming right up.....yummy!!!! :coffee: :drinking1 :dancer:

Cathy,

I have been lurking and reading your pre-trip report and just have to tell you how much I am enjoying it! (Especially with all the delicious snacks you provide for munching while reading ;)

By chance, do you remember where you stumbled upon the thread about making clothing? Sounds intriguing!

Melissa

I'll second milouster's question. Do you have a link to that Disney clothing site? I know nothing about sewing but I'd like to learn and try my hand at something like that!

Are you at 10 days now Cathy??? You'll be in the single digits tomorrow. :woohoo: :wizard:

Hi Deb! How goes it? :goodvibes As I said above, the thread is long but it has lots of great pics and inspiration! The link again is http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1342831
I would love to see what you come up with!! I will post pics of mine later today. I am still trying to decide if I want to embroider the edges of everything. It would take about 1/2 hour for each shirt I am guessing x 4 shirts... probably worth it if we were going to wear the shirts again. I will go for it! :thumbsup2

I just had a quick look and some of them are adorable but I must admit a few are a bit OTT, but I do go for the simple look :confused3

Thanks so much for the warm welcome and for the link Cathy! I took a quick look at the first page of that thread and will come back to it later tonight when all is quiet :)

Can't wait to see pics of your projects!

Melissa

Hello Disers, It CDD (countdown day) 11 and I am busy finishing up last minute projects. :yay:

As Jo stated, I am more simple myself...though these T-shirts have a lot of stuff on them I still think they came out ok for a first-timer. The t-shirts are lime green :disrocks: of course. I used a scrapbook sticker of Mickey Mouse dressed in safari clothes to design the Mouse head. Then I used stencils to make the letters of the word safari. I sewed on 7 safari animals and one mouse button. Then I added ribbon to the sleeve which matches the ribbon in the hair bow. The hair bow has green, black and orange striped ribbon with a yellow mickey button on a clip.
"Easy peasy mac and cheesy" as Utah Momma would say. So here is one of the four shirts:

Here's another shot with the hair bows:

IMGP3006.jpg

Hairbows everywhere...I made two of each kind in case they both wanted their hair up. Michaels Craft had a great sale on ribbon!
IMGP3007.jpg

Here is a closeup of the ribbons...see any hidden mickeys?

Hi DD2! Notice the green nail polish for our toes! Gotta get going on the pedicure soon! :woohoo:

IMGP3010.jpg

And thats all I could get to tonight....I am so falling behind on reading everyone's threads! :sad2: I am hoping you all will forgive me....I will catch up this weekend~I am having Dis withdrawal

Tonights snacks include chips and salsa, and yummy hot dip! Frozen drinks too! Dig in!

Shirts are cute! You need to hop over onto our thread later...we're going to post a picture of ours in a few!
