With just 6 days to go until our trip, I thought it was time for pre-trip report.

This is our 6th annual Feb half-term visit. We like cold. :goodvibes
It used to be all 4 of us who visited but nowadays it is just Dtr and I - we don't mind too much, in fact we quite look forward to our girly trips.
I had our Eurostar tickets booked last August but left it quite a while to book our hotel, hoping that prices would come down and we could stay onsite, I was originally quoted £655 for Sequoia Lodge. The prices didn't come down, but a backdated payrise meant I said "oh blow it" and decided to book SL anyway. The kind CM pointed out that it was actually cheaper to stay at the Hotel New York, as the 20% off offer was available there.......so of course I booked that! We have never stayed at HNY before and are looking forward to it enormously. It will be the 5th onsite hotel we've tried - we only have NPB and Cheyenne left to try.

So.....we're off on Eurostar on Sunday morning and will be coming back on Thursday night. We are more used to doing 4 days/3 nights so this trip we will have an extra day/night. The plan is to take it very easy on Sunday - treat it as our extra day. We hope:
1) to have the Sunday Brunch at the Steakhouse
2) check in our hotel and have a good nosey around
3) go to the early show at Buffalo Bills.

If there are any delays in any of these things, we may not even get to go in the Park all day, but that is okay - we'll start off bright and early on Monday instead.

We hope to eat at California Grill on Monday
If open, we'll eat at Walts on Tuesday
Looking forward to Inventions on Wednesday
We'll have lunch at Auberge de Cendrillon on Thursday

Thank you for pointing out the value of HB premium vouchers. :thumbsup2

We think we're prepared for all sorts of weather. Lots of thermals, some rain ponchos and some sunblock (but I may be joking about the sunblock)

We went shopping on Saturday to buy a few essentials.

Dtr was horrified at first at the idea of us wearing matching boots, but they didn't have them in another colour and I pointed out that lots of families wear matching stuff at Disney. :rotfl: We have a new book each and I've got a puzzle book, so we're okay for the journey.

Ummm - I think that's about it for now. Ooh - except Husband came back from his trip to France last week with 45 Euro and I found 20 from our Christmas trip -so that's a good start.

I woke up with a start the other night and told husband I'd had a bad dream - It was the end of the second day of our trip and we hadn't been in a shop yet. He thought the dream was just perfect!

We aim to do lots of shopping, lots of eating and lots of seeing characters, with a whole heap of rides thrown in. Let's wait and see what we actually get......

Sounds brilliant

Im interested to see if you bump into us as much as you did Britchic on your last trip

I have a favour to ask though ...

If the sun starts shining can I borrow some of your sunblock as I dont think Im taking any :rotfl:

sounds like a great plan. we spent almost as much time in the shops as on rides lol

Sounds like a fun trip is planned. The HNY is a fab hotel:thumbsup2

Hope you both have a lovely time :goodvibes

I am loving the pink boots they look so snuggly.

The pink boots are great they will be another way to spot you! (where did you get them from out of interest I need to get the girls some waterproof boots before we go?)

Have a fab time, hope to spot you around the park :goodvibes

Personally I don't know how you can bear to go without us. I think you should wait until we go in March.

The pink boots hit New York should be the tittle of your trip :goodvibes have a fab time cant wait to hear about it:wizard:

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: Perhaps I should go again in March.:rotfl2:

The pink boots are from a certain exclusive boutique known as Prigh Marck

or from the good old bargain store of Primark. :rotfl:

Prigh Marck sounds like a trendy store, may have to pay a visit ;) :lmao:

We arrive on Sunday for 3 nights at the Marriott - will look out for the boots in the parks and also my brother and his family are staying at the HNY so we will be through there every morning

I normally search out your trip reports anyway, but this time I will be looking for lots of information about, and pictures of the Hotel New York, as I will be staying there for the first time in 3 weeks or so.:cool1:

We are just back - we had the same boots in black, and we too were in the HNY.

As recommended (I think it was on TripAdvisor, but maybe it was here :confused3 ) we requested a room in the Mid Town tower on a higher floor. We did not pay extra for a lake view, but got it - we had connecting rooms on the 5th floor!!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Super view - pic of it at night on my blog here

We also requested a kettle on arrival - there was no charge. It was great for making our own hot drinks - just remember to pack a few plastic spoons.

Lots more pics to follow and a trip report.

Thanks for the info. :thumbsup2 Lovely photos on your blog.

I'll be on the look out for your boots too!
If it's freezing cold, my girls will be in matching brown sallopettes from Adams!

I'm so jealous of you and your DD getting to dine in the Auberge! Robert won't take me there ever ever, despite a load of begging and pleading! :sad2:

Have an amazing trip!!!!
