With just 6 days to go until our trip, I thought it was time for pre-trip report.
This is our 6th annual Feb half-term visit. We like cold.
It used to be all 4 of us who visited but nowadays it is just Dtr and I - we don't mind too much, in fact we quite look forward to our girly trips.
I had our Eurostar tickets booked last August but left it quite a while to book our hotel, hoping that prices would come down and we could stay onsite, I was originally quoted £655 for Sequoia Lodge. The prices didn't come down, but a backdated payrise meant I said "oh blow it" and decided to book SL anyway. The kind CM pointed out that it was actually cheaper to stay at the Hotel New York, as the 20% off offer was available there.......so of course I booked that! We have never stayed at HNY before and are looking forward to it enormously. It will be the 5th onsite hotel we've tried - we only have NPB and Cheyenne left to try.
So.....we're off on Eurostar on Sunday morning and will be coming back on Thursday night. We are more used to doing 4 days/3 nights so this trip we will have an extra day/night. The plan is to take it very easy on Sunday - treat it as our extra day. We hope:
1) to have the Sunday Brunch at the Steakhouse
2) check in our hotel and have a good nosey around
3) go to the early show at Buffalo Bills.
If there are any delays in any of these things, we may not even get to go in the Park all day, but that is okay - we'll start off bright and early on Monday instead.
We hope to eat at California Grill on Monday
If open, we'll eat at Walts on Tuesday
Looking forward to Inventions on Wednesday
We'll have lunch at Auberge de Cendrillon on Thursday
Thank you for pointing out the value of HB premium vouchers.
We think we're prepared for all sorts of weather. Lots of thermals, some rain ponchos and some sunblock (but I may be joking about the sunblock)
We went shopping on Saturday to buy a few essentials.
Dtr was horrified at first at the idea of us wearing matching boots, but they didn't have them in another colour and I pointed out that lots of families wear matching stuff at Disney.
We have a new book each and I've got a puzzle book, so we're okay for the journey.
Ummm - I think that's about it for now. Ooh - except Husband came back from his trip to France last week with 45 Euro and I found 20 from our Christmas trip -so that's a good start.
I woke up with a start the other night and told husband I'd had a bad dream - It was the end of the second day of our trip and we hadn't been in a shop yet. He thought the dream was just perfect!
We aim to do lots of shopping, lots of eating and lots of seeing characters, with a whole heap of rides thrown in. Let's wait and see what we actually get......
