Can a pre-reception be anywhere?

Say if I am having my reception at the Contemporary, could I have my cocktail hour at The Summerhouse?

Technically yes, but you really should consider transportation time. I know some people who have had a ceremony at wp and the ch right after at summerhouse (guests usually need to walk) and then transfer the guests. Disney prefers for the ch to flow right to the dinner but it is your wedding not theirs lol!
