I'm totally confused about what dishes to pick for our pre-reception and reception.

I know everyone's taste is different but can you all recommend some really good dishes that you had? Or if there were any in particular that your guests raved about?

Our pre-reception and reception are both in Citricos' main dining room, so it's going to be catered by GF catering. I know a lot of you have had receptions in Whitehall and other GF locations, so if you could share your thoughts on food choices that'd be great!

I had my rehearsal dinner at Citricos. They did a fantastic job! The service was excellent and the food was awesome. They created this menu for us and printed it for our guests. We were going from this dinner to a dessert party so I specifically told them not to include dessert. I also picked a red and white wine from their wine list for them to offer to our guests or to allow our guests to choose any other beverage. It all went in to my BEO so we didn't have to worry about settling up afterward.

i did not have m wedding at the grand.mine was at the boardwalk. as silly as it may sound my guest relly raved about our mini corndogs and french fries. they like the crab cakes also. but i have to say they loved all the food

good luck! maybe if you give us an idea of your taste it can help us narrow down the choices for you

Good Evening..

We just came back from our planning session about a month ago and all the food was wonderful.. Our Pre-Reception and Reception (plated) are at the Whitehall and GF Ballroom!

For Pre-Reception we are having:
Bacon and Bleu Cheese Wrapped Meatballs (DF could not stop talking about these and still to this day wants me to make them at home!)
We are also having a Fruit Display and Spring Rolls (Which were good if you are into that which we are not, but we are having a lot of Vegaterians and we figured this would be a good thing for them..

As far as the Reception we are having:

App: Shrimp Cocktail (didn't get to try)
Salad:Ceaser Salad (didn't get to try, but how can you mess this up -- plus only salad my DF and I will eat!)
Intermezzo: Raspberry Champange in the Green Lit Slipper (amazing, if you can afford I say totally go for this!
Main:Parmeasan Crusted Chicken with Mushroom Sauce, Parmeasan Mashed Potatoes and Vegs (This was the best thing I have every tasted in my life.. WOW, even my DF liked it and he hates mushrooms..) We also tried a Steak with a Red Wine Demi, which was good, but the chicken won hands down!!
Dessert: We tried the fondu which was good, but we decided to stick just with cake for dessert, we figured with all the food we are having people will not be leaving hungy..

So to wrap up, we went into our planning session not knowing anything, they let us try what they said were the popular dishes, some we loved some we didn't.. I would say stick to what you like and if your guests don't like it, there is a McDonalds down the street!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Happy Planning and Good Luck!
