Pre-RD BOG Questions

We have pre-RD ressies for BOG on January 14 at 8:15 am. My plan was to get to the gates at 7:45 and enter as soon as they allow, hopefully entering the restaurant around 8:00 and finishing in time to hop in line for 7DMT before crowds hit. Tonight I noticed they are now taking reservations as early as 7:30 am, even though MK doesn't open until 9:00 that day. Does this mean they are going to change park hours to open earlier? Or are they just trying to get more people in for breakfast before park opening?

I would be at MK by 7:30 am and in line. They will probably open that line by 7:45 am and you will be allowed in then.

The current park hours are showing MK opening at 9:00 am, with BOG hours starting at 8:00. However, in the MDE app, it suddenly gives the option of making a BOG ressie for 7:30 am that day. I was just wondering if this could possibly be an indication that they will be changing park hours to open earlier.

Robo, I don't understand what you mean by "double-check your DATE on that info." That's the day we are going, and that's the day we have reservations at BOG. Am I missing something??

Weird - I'd assumed this was just holidays but like you I have an 8am for Jan 12. I see in the app now for both those days and others that BOG says it opens at 730, CRT says 705 and CP says 700! I couldn't change to anything earlier but wonder if this is correct or just not updated after the holidays.

Actually, the more I look at it, the more I think the app is just showing the hours for the current day even when you search for a later day. I'm searching Jan 12 and in addition to showing BOG opening at 0730, it also shows it open for dinner until 1130pm but the park closes that night at 8pm.

BoG does not open until 8AM on Jan. 14 (as HopperFan listed above in post #3.)

I'm asking that you recheck the source of your info, as 7:30 Breakfast ADRs are not available.

My "source" is the MDE app, which gives me the option of a 7:30 am ADR. Which is why I was confused, since I hadn't seen that before and since the park doesn't open until 9:00. Hence my question.

The MDE App is unfortunately prone to glitches.

To check in a different way:

Try using a web browser (not MDE App) and go to-

https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/dining/magic-kingdom/be-our-guest-restaurant/

then under "Check Availability," set the date (Jan. 14, 2016) and check the times listed.

I know it isn't likely for January, but for our early June trip this year we had PreRD reservation for BOG at 8:15. The opening hours were changed a week prior from 9am to 8am. It bothered me, but didn't hurt the magic. We still got in around 7:45 so we had time to take park pictures while it was somewhat empty, but the line for 7DMT was already backed up pretty far

1. Be at the gates by 8:20AM.
2. Maybe. It depends on the CMs staffing the entry gates that day.
You can certainly show up early and ask... and see what happens.

I just wanted to recommend that you not have breakfast during the best hour of park time .... If you can't get a earlier time, I'd skip it. I know you didn't ask my opinion on that, but in case you're new and hadn't considered it, I thought I'd chime in.

Thanks! I actually canceled it before I even read this lol. We were on the fence about it... do we go so we can get early entry for a good photo op but miss the best AM hour in the park? Or do we skip it and do our rope drop thing. Beating the crowds won out over early entry! We'll be doing lunch at BOG later that week, which we all enjoy! Thanks for your input!
