Pre-purchasing Character Dining

Has anyone done this? Does it save anything? Even if it doesn't, I am thinking it might be worth it, so we can get that cost out of the way. As long as it doesn't cost more than paying at the restaraunt.

I know it's an option on the Disney site and I found it on Lastminutetravel.com. What is the difference between the Character Dining and Premium Character dining?

On LMT, character dining is $30.66 and premium character dining is $37 and some change.

I have reservations at both PCH Grill and Storyteller's, so if it makes things easier, I just might get them.

Any input is greatly appreciated.

We purchased tickets through Ares travel last year for Ariels grotto dinner. We ended up saving a few dollars and it was nice having it prepaid. We printed out a confirmation and took it to the ticket booth to get our tickets. I have not used LMT so cannot comment on that site, but I would definitely use Ares again!

We got ours thru a travel agent, and the tax and tip were included (alcoholic drinks were extra). So that saved us some $$. And I'm fairly certain that we did not prepay for it (it was a package, so we did not have exact breakdowns of costs and discounts).

The premium dining is Ariels Grotto and Goofys Kitchen (might just be breakfast thats premium, can't remember off the top of my head) The rest of the character meals are at regular prices. Subject to change of course ;)

I was going to post something similar. I called and asked tonight and Goofy's Kitchen for breakfast is $29.99 for adults and $15.99 for children. The getawaytoday prices are $38 and $20, which i know includes tax and gratuity but it still doesn't seem like we are saving any money getting them through there.

Yeah it doesn't sound like it saves a whole bunch. But as long as it doesn't cost more, it still might be worth it to get it, just so we don't have that extra cost to worry about when we are there.

The only thing now is, will they work at PCH Grill and Storytellers? I looked a little more closely at the list of restuarants they are valid at, and didn't see either of those ones there, so I am not even sure I can get them. Round Up BBQ however, is on the list (even though I believe it isnt actually a character meal), and I do have a reservation there as well.

We prebooked our Goofy's Kitchen last time and it was 30$ Canadian. So it worked out to be a bit cheaper. But our dollar is much stronger right now so I am just going to make reservations at Goofy's and Ariels and pay there.

If you are going to the pch grill for breakfast you can just chose something from the menu which is cheaper than their buffet.
