Pre-Paid Meals on the Dining Plan

HI! Earlier I saw Mickey's Backyard barbecue had an opening but we have the dining plan and it was going to charge my credit card for the entire amount of meal. How do you reserve it with the dining plan?

Are you sure it was going to charge the card? Usually a credit card is required to hold the reservation, but it doesn't get charged (unless you cancel without a 24 notice, then a cancellation fee is charged to your card).

I had the exact same problem. I asked my Travel Agent to call and see what was up with that, and she took care of calling Disney dining and avoiding the advanced payment. Though they still have my card on file so if we don't cancel 48 hours in advance we'll be charged in full.

For CRT I have the dining plan and had to call yo reserve it without having it charged.... Your CC still has to be on file in case you no show. It gets tricky when you book online then have to call to add the plan to have the money not deducted sometimes the CM messes up and cancels your reservation which can free it up momentarily to somebody else. My advice is for pre paid meals always call unless you have the extra room on your card, once your at the restaurant you can tell them you want it on the dining plan and they will reverse the money back.

I booked CRT, but I was able to use dining credits on MDE. On the first page it said about the credit card, but on the next page it gave me the option of using the dining credits or cc, and I went with the dining credits. I'm not sure if that restaurant would be the same!
