Pre-paid cell phone

I'm looking for a service that will let me pay for a month or two each year. Is Tracfone the only place that does this? I need my daughter to have a phone in October of this year and June and Sept of next year.

I see there is a $15 for 500 mins & 500 texts. If I get this, will the phone number be the same each time we activate it? Is it a pain to activate? Do they mail me a sim card?

Go to QVC or HSN, buy a new TracPhone between $60 and $100 that gives you 1500 minutes, 1500 texts and 1500MB of data + 365 days of service - this way the phone number is the same. They are very easy to activate online.

That's the whole thing with all pre-paid. There is no contract. Activate and deactivate at your wishes. I personally use AT&T pre-paid, for the past 10+ years.

I pay $44/month. However I use to just have text only and paid $0.10/minute for the handful of phone calls I did for a year. It was complicated though and not something you'd want to do just for temporary service for a couple months at a time.

For $44 though, it is a regular service with unlimited calling and text and a, well plenty enough for me, data, maybe 1.5Gb /month. So, it's not like a limited Tracfone.
