Pre-Nup

What are your thoughts on them? Would you sign one? Would you make your SO sign one?

I doubt much of the people here know what Pre Nup is. [not intended to insult anyone]

but, I wouldn't sign one. because hopefully i wouldn't get divorced. Plus the reason for divorcing could make you regret alot when your spouse gets fifty percent of your stuff.

Ah, good point. You forget when you schedule things around Judge Judy that maybe not everyone knows these things.

Just for those of you who don't, to put it simply, it's a set division of marital assets if those who are marrying happen to get divorced. In many cases, it's to protect people from losing what they already have to their spouse after the divorce. I'm fully aware that there is tons more to it, but that's my bare-bones definition.

naw, i wouldn't sign one. I think by signing one, it's kind of like you're half-expecting your marriage to end at some point in time.

maybe if i was super-rich i'd sign one, just so no gold-diggin' men try to play me!

I think they're a good idea for hollywood couples though, seeing as how it's rare for them to stay together for a long period of time.

I don't think they are horrible and I don't know how I'd feel about signing one. I'd only do it if I actually had valuable items or lots of money that I'd like to keep if the worst should happen.

In today's society, you are more than likely to get divorced, sadly. Why not plan for the worst and sign one? I can understand that people would take it wrong and think their spouse is betting that their marriage would fail, but people and circumstances do change over time. Better to be safe, then be sorry.

I really dont know, I havent thought about it.
But I really doubt it because I mean your marrying the person so your kind of supposed to love them so why make the other person doubt what you feel for them by signing that?
