Hey Dis!!!

I'm a new pre-k teacher (4 and 5s) and our theme of the month is patriotic which we've done 2 weeks of or states. My co-teacher is doing a week of Ohio (the state we live in) and I was thinking since I recently moved from FL in the past month that I would do the last week of July as a FL lesson week which I think most of the kids can relate to in some way (high income area where I teach).

I pretty much need a theme for the day and with that an art project for the art center and if possible--some sort of worksheet or game for language arts.

I was thinking of possibles: WDW of course, Kennedy Space Center, the beach, and I need to think of one more (they have water day once a week so we don't have any lessons that day).

Can anyone think of one more theme or ideas for my themes???!!

Thanks!!!!

What about wildlife? They can color pictures of snakes, oppossums, alligators, birds, manatees, sealife, frogs, etc. They can also make a fingerprint (thumbprint) snake using ink pads or tempra paint.

For Kennedy Space Center you can take pictures of blocks stacked like a rocket ship and ask them to make their own or copy yours.

SeaWorld?

Transportation : airplanes, taxi, bus, Cruise Ships, Monorail, train etc...

You dont even have to do Orlando... you can go into St. Augustine and the old history of Florida as well.
