We arrive Thursday night - too late for the pasta party at Epcot, but need to make sure the runners have a good early dinner on Friday before running Saturday morning. We'll be staying at the AKL but have a car, could go to any resort or downtown Disney for dinner.

What do you recommend for a good relaxing pasta meal?

An aside - since we registered, we've heard nothing from RunDisney about race logistics - where to be when, good resources for pre-run food, post-run stuff (my kids do triathlons and some have a massage tent at the end for example). I don't know if I'm looking in the wrong places, but can't find much info anywhere online.

Am I missing anything? Any runners here want to share experiences or tips?

Many restaurants will have a "marathon special" entree added to their menus. In 2010, we ate our pre-marathon dinner at Olivia's and it was incredible! We also like Olivia's for its relaxing, casual atmosphere. Plus, we were staying at OKW, so we could eat dinner and then get ready to turn in early.

As for where to be when, you'll receive info when you pick up your bib at the Expo. Also, the resort's front desk will be able to provide you with info regarding where to catch the bus the morning of the race and things along those lines.

Good luck! :goodvibes

Yes, the the special marathon entrees on the resort counterservice menus.

I love the penne chicken at POP. I know someone that makes a special trip there on his visits, even if staying at another resort. It's quite good.

DH is is the runner (he's doing the goofy this year) and likes the disneyrunning.com website. I think it's a pay-site though. That said, it might be worth the fees to get onto their forums for info.

I know the packet he gets at the expo has all kinds of stuff in it for bus information and whatnot.

Good luck to your runners!

There is huge discussion and all questions answered on the WISH section of this forum. From main page scroll near the bottom, you will see W.I.S.H., then go to events/competition. You will find all kinds of info. You can also check out the rundisney.com website as it has race instructions.

Link below is for WISH.
