Hello everyone. I was curious as to whether you have any sort of traditions you do before taking your trips to Disneyland? I always watch all of my Disney movies that I have on DVD to get me in the Disney spirit as well as refresh my memory of various characters, and also so I can spot certain things on the rides that are directly from the movies so I can always get the most out of every attraction. For example, there are certain little wooden creations in Gepetto's work shop in the Pinocchio ride that are in the background of his workshop in the actual film. So if you watch the movie before going to Disneyland, you can notice those special minor details easily and get even more enjoyment out of the rides. I will be at Disneyland on October the 2nd & 3rd. :)

We usually go thru our pins and decide which ones will stay home and which ones we will bring to trade.

We watch Disney DVD's as our countdown, saving the PotC and NBC movies for the drive. We also listen to Disney CD's to get in the mood.

Other than that, it is pretty much just me ,spinning in circles about the house and crying out, "Five more days, four more days, 24-hours!" :lmao:

 We watch Disney videos and the Disneyland planning video, watch the rides on youtube. Plan which rides we are going on first... Go though last years pictures!! We are basically only eating, breathing, and living Disney right now... :)

Gotta have the count down calender! DD just reminded me we have to go to Home Depot to get 30 Mickey Heads for our poster!

I think about all of that yummy food i am going to eat. :rotfl:

Oh and also what order we are riding the rides.

I buy new Disney-themed T-shirts (on sale) for my kids to wear. They love having a cool new shirt, and I don't have to shop for them while I'm there!

On a practical note, I also double-check height restrictions and measure my kids in shoes they will be wearing, so we avoid any last-minute disappointment (or buy taller shoes:lmao: ) I also double-check ride closings, park hours, etc.

Yup, we're dorks too and buy the matching t-shirts. (I mean "fun" dorks) I really don't care what others think. We will be in the parks with a group of 9 and at least one day we will wear the same t-shirt. It does come in handy when you are looking for someone in your group.

We also sometimes do a Disney trivia contest. This year we have two little ones that don't know that we are going, so we probably won't do a trivia contest. When we went at a family (22 of us) my DH organized the Disney trivia contest for all of the adults and even gave trophies to the winners. (Each family received a trophy) He used DL character bobble heads from cereal boxes for the tops of the trophies. They were cute!

I just worked on my LGM tag for my bag for the parks. Be on the lookout for it! :thumbsup2

I serve "Disney" food the night before the trip. Last time I found some Mickey shaped ravioli at the store, but I've also done home made Mickey pancakes for "breakfast for dinner" that night, too. It's a fun way to get the magic started and feel like you've made it!

I read all I can. Tour books and maps of the parks. Shop at the Disney outlet.

They have Mickey ravioli!! Man! I gotta find that!!! We had Mickey Pizza before.. We usually can find it at Wal Mart.. Hmm. I think a trip to Wal Mart is in order tonight! Woohoo!! :yay:

I LOVE to go over to my mom's place and help her pack her stuff... Actually I go sit on her bed while she packs and we play Disney music and talk about things happened on our past trips and what we are excited to experience again.

We have a mickey mouse head silhouette on the wall between my two kids' rooms. We first put it up with a chain which wound its way around the wall up to Mickey's head, and each day they removed a chain to get closer to Mickey. We just kept it up and added a new chain for each new trip. This time though, I'm not adding a chain as the kids want to be surprised, so we're skipping the tradition this time around!

OOhh I just remembered something else we do, we were at Wal-mart tonight! And I buy anything with Disney on it!! :lovestruc Shirts, water bottles, blanket, band-aids, socks, light thingys, etc... you name it we've got it. This doesn't stop me from buying in the park when we get there though! :) poor dh :scared1:
