Hi all

I was wondering if anybody has any pre-disney gift ideas for my Gf. It is our first trip so I am trying to do everything in my power to make it an awesome one, and thought that a pre-disney trip would start the trip off with a bang. Idealy I would like to spend $100. Any suggestions?

Thanks a million!

This is a tough one without knowing much about your GF and what you had in mind. If your GF is like most of us, it isn't going to be about how much you spend, but more about how much thought you put into it.

A few things that I can think of:

Disney Pins for trading at park. It doesn't take long to get to $100.
A Mickey Watch
Matching shirts for both of you to wear at the park.
A piece of Disney themed luggage.
Her favorite Disney DVD
An inexpensive digital camera (don't forget charger and batteries)
A Disney beach towel (if doing water parks)
Pal Mickey
A pair of Disney PJs

Hope that helps.

Either way, you will have a wonderful trip.

Hi there...you sound like SUCH an angel!! What a lucky girl! A really great gift might be the 2006 Passporter...it's a guidebook/scrapbook/organizer/journal all in one. My fiance got one for me for our upcoming honeymoon!!! It's great! It has little pockets to keep bits of this and that for keepsakes, areas to write down what you are doing that day what you enjoyed etc. It's got all the maps you would need and tips on places to go. It really gets you into the spirit of things! You can get it at Amazon.com...about $14-ish online, I've seen it for $21 in stores. Very good add in to your "disney gift bag"!!!

have a wonderful time!!!! :wizard: princess:

I have done all of the planning, so there really isn't a need for the passporters (especially since she's already spent $400 in scrap books and material for this trip - lol). I was thinking of something like a disney beach towel, or a DVD for her. I was hoping that this could be a gift that she uses while on vacation, so the towel might be the best, but I don't have long to find one. Anymore great suggestions?

Oh is pal mickey really great for adults?

I'm sure if you go into any Disney store you could find a whole host of things to get for her...they have TONS of towels and other things...sweatshirt, tees, eeyore flip flops, stuffed animals...PJ's...EVERYTHING.

or go to disneystore online!

My suggestion is make sure there is something sentimental attached to it...women aren't big on useful alone. I could give examples such as the bras I received one year from DH at Christmas. :teeth: The towel idea is great, but I'd suggest something sentimental also. How about a silver charm bracelet that she can collect charms on? You can get starter bracelets just about any dept store like Kohl's, JCPenney, etc. and silver charms are $4.99-$19.99. The ones at Disney are cute(I have little mickey ear hat) and it could be something you continue to add to for other trips and occasions throughout the year.

:Pinkbounc Oh what about PINS?! You could get her a lanyard and a couple of pins and then she will be reading for her entrance into the pin trading/collecting world!!! Pins are great b/c you can get ones that are special to you, your trips, characters you love or special occasions! Oh wait...am I a dork for admitting that I like pins? ;) Well I AM a dork so I suppose it works out! :rotfl: Seriously though, that could be really fun...and even if she doesn't like to collect pins, if you found her a special one it would be a nice keepsake either way! :cheer2: princess: :wizard: :cheer2:

I think the beach towel AND the pins/laynard would be a great idea! How sweet of you! Or what about a hidden mickey book?

have a great trip!

Do you know if you can buy those bracelets at disney? I would really like one.

You don't happen to have a single brother, about 30 years old.. just dying to move to cleveland, would you? haha..

Seriously though I think pins and a lanyard would be GREAT (you can get GREAT deals on Ebay).. and Disney Store is having a GREAT sale on adult t-shirts if you have one near you.. if not disneyshopping.com usually has good deals. You could get her some trip wear.

A beach towel is a cute idea and you can also get her the Happiest Celebration On Earth Official Album of WDW... also can get cheap on ebay.

At walmart they have CUTE disney purses... with scenes monogrammed on them. I have 2 great cinderella ones .. they have other characters too.

If you ebay and sale shop you could get ALL of these things under $100. In fact disneyshopping.com was just having a sale on towels..

Wow the charm braclet sounds like a great idea. I wish my dh would think of something like that. Good luck! :rotfl:

That is so sweet that you are doing this.. here are my suggestions.

1) Charm bracelet (you can get the basic bracelet at a jewelry store) the charms are about 12.00 at disney. I have several from disney from each trip but also I get a new charm with the places I got.. for example I have an effiel tower from paris.

2) an autograph book. if she is a big scrapbooker then this would be a great way for her to get items such as autographs to put in the book

3) Disneydirect.com has the beach towels on sale right now and you can get them personalized.

4) Guest of Honor Badge.. they put her name on it and it is sort of cool. I know I am getting my fiancee and his two children ones for when we get there.

5) Peggy does really cute gift boxes that can be delievered to Disney resorts, that might be cute for her when she gets to the room. Here is her web address http://www.peggyssweetsandmore.com/

6) get her disposable cameras, I get them for my fiancee's little ones every trip we go, and it is fun to come home and develop the film and see what was important to them. You will be amazed at what she will take pictures of.

7) you could also go to the Disney Store and get her disney dollars.. I know that sounds silly, but it is a fun way to encourage her to be a kid and buy whatever her heart desires.

Hope this helps.. feel free to PM me if you want to bounce some ideas!

Wow thanks for all of the great ideas. Peggy's sounds ok but I don't really have the time left since I'm going so soon. A charm bracelet sounds like a good idea (I think I might get one) - I just hope she doesn't find it corny :rotfl:

I’ve done most of the planning for Disney since my girlfriend approached me in November asking me where I wanted to go for my bday, and I replied - DISNEY! I’ve done pretty much all of the preparation, so it’ll be her turn when we goto Europe in 2 years. If anyone of you are interested in the story I’ll be writing a trip report on the boards about it (which will also give insight into the other various gifts & surprises I have in store for her)

Also, I do have a 30 yr old brother but he’s married – sorry L Is 21 too young for you?? LOL

thanks again, and keep those suggestions comming, I still have 3 more shopping days left!!

For my godson's first trip I bought him a guidebook and disney dollars.

My BF gave me for Easter Disney dollars instead of an Easter basket (not too into candy!).For my birthday he made special dining arrangements..and didn't tell me where!

For my BF I gave him coupons that I made on my computer for a special surprise dinner, do an attraction I may not be too thrilled to do (Hall of Presidents..lol) a carriage ride etc.

Or you can gice a gift of necessity: poncho(you can get these compact and cheap),backpack, photo album (for when you get back), camera (batteries,film-if not digital) sunscrean, gum (not sold in WDW!) check the site for other "musts" for your trip.

Have a great trip...

She will NOT think it's corny. What a thoughtful man you are. Some of us can't even get our DH's to join us on our WDW trips (yes, mine is one of them) I hope you have a wonderful trip. I'm sure your GF will have a spectacular time, especially with someone as sweet as you leading the way. :wizard:

wow that must suck if you can't get your DH to come :( I just found out thta my GF (future DGF) wants to buy a towel at disney, so I'm thinking of doing the charm bracelet (with 'one starter' charm), and possibly a pair of gold earings that I'll give to her the night when we goto pleasure island (since It'll probably mean more on the trip). I'll let you guys know what I end up doing, and post a link to my TR once it's up. ;)

Dude, you are giving some of us a bad name here. Man o man. My wife thinks I'm cheap and lazy as it is (Ok, she knows I'm cheap and lazy). Hopefully, she won't read this or I'll have to get her something before we go in Nov.

I think the charm brac./earrings sounds very nice. One other suggestion I would have is to buy her some new scent of body spray or body wash. Something she doesn't usually wear. I'm thinking something like the colada scent at Bath & Body Works. Anyhow, I've read that if you have a new scent on your trip every time you spray it/smell it when you get back it will bring back memories of your vacation. I know I still think about our one trip whenever I smell almond because the shampoo I used at the hotel had almond in it. Just a suggestion. :thumbsup2
