Flying into MCO day before our Magic cruise this Feb. This is our 1st cruise and I have no idea what is a good option for a 1 nite hotel stay? I would like to avoid renting a car and stick w/Disney bus transportation from the airport to the terminal.

We've stayed at the hotel in the airport, Hyatt, I believe.
Lately we have gone to WDW and stayed there.
We have a cruise in Feb. also and are staying at WL for one night.

Please explain how you use Disney transportation for resort & cruise. Thanks!

Shuttles from MCO to WDW resorts are free. DCL transfers from either MCO or a WDW resort to port has a cost - $35.00 per person. Also from port to MCO/WDW resorts it's DCL transfers.

I highly suggest simply staying at the Hyatt at MCO. You can then just get on the DCL bus the next day and head to the port. WDW is not near the port, so unless you are getting in early the day before and have some time to enjoy WDW, it may not be worth the travel time.

Very little difference in time between staying at MCO and staying at Disney World. And huge difference in environment. If you have any time at all after you arrive, I'd definitely stay at Disney. The bus ride is about 1 hour plus any hotels they stop at after yours.

Easiest to stay at HYATT if you are departing from the Port and not Miami!! Just tell the Hyatt when you are checking in that you are on the Disney cruise and then just leave your luggage in your room in the AM and they will bring it right to your stateroom on the ship!! AWESOME cost is $35 each way per person and I think it is worth every dime. Going to the WDW hotels is kind of a pain right now with all the construction at Downtown Disney. Your choice

I have stayed at the Renaissance at Port Canaveral which is very close to the port obviously. I had to pay for a shuttle from the airport to the hotel and then for a shuttle to the port. You can obviously save money by staying that the airport and just take the shuttle from the airport to the terminal, however it was very convenient and fast to catch the shuttle from the Renaissance to the port.

We always stay at DW, but we also fly in at least two days ahead of the cruise and spend time in the parks and DTD.

i'm looking for recommendations too....the Hyatt is a little pricey though. for my cruise it's $333/night and we're about 300 days out.

We stayed off property near DTD in 2011, so we could eat there and shop. We rented a car from MCO 1-way and it was cheaper than using DCL transfers anyway

Just check back periodically. I called roughly a month out. It was $149/night. That's the cold quote by the agent on the phone when I called about general availability. I got a friends and family rate and it's only like $20 cheaper than that.

we usually stay at the MCO Hyatt, but this time, it was very expensive. (300$/night), so we decided to book Holyday Inn Express and Suites near the airport. A third of the price with free shuttle 24/7 + breakfast included.

Thought about staying at the Radisson at Port Canaveral. Relax for the day and wake up refreshed and ready for our departure the next day. However just found out we cannot use Disney shuttle to Port unless it's departure day. Seems silly. So now I have 3 choices.
1. change our flight to same day as departure. I've read not to do this because if we are delayed which could happen due to weather we could miss the boat.
2. Find another means of transport to Radisson day prior and only use Disney transport for return trip.
3.Stay at the Hyatt or another airport shuttle hotel and use Disney transport
Thanks for all responses prior.
