The simple answer is no. Unless you have signed up for TSA Pre, you have no guarantees that it will appear on your boarding pass. That’s not to say it couldn’t happen (TSA used to use a low-risk assessment program to randomly assign Pre to pax not signed up for PreCheck), but you can’t count on it. If you travel under the same confirmation number, her chances might be better, as you have PreCheck.
Of course, at age 75, you are not required to remove shoes and light jackets, going thru the normal security line.
My Mom never got it after 75. She ended up applying for Pre-Check since I was and wanted to make things easier since she travels with me a lot. My Pre Check approval came through in 1 day and my Mom's took the full 2 weeks to process (we went to our appointments together). But it really does help to get through the airport more efficiently.
No. My parents just got it and both are nearly 80. Neither of them were ever given it for free on their boarding passes. Not even when I booked her on a trip with me and I have it (paid for)
Currently 66 years old. I've been getting TSA pre-check free for many flights in the past few years... not always but often. Most recently in December. I travel between Florida and the northeast several times a year and usually am solo.
Having said that, I certainly don't count on it and am fine when I don't have it. Nice when I get it but certainly not something I feel the need to purchase.
Your mom gets it because she is traveling with you and you have it and you booked the flights together. I do not have it but since I bought it for my wife a few years ago I have also been included on all but one trip. I am going to get it for my daughter who turns 13 soon and myself in the next few months then I don't have to worry about if I am included with my wife or not. It would just be the random chance of not getting it from TSA on my ticket then.
I would go ahead and purchase it to be sure. It is not much fun if some of your party have precheck and others do not. Also, some credit cards will cover the cost of pre-check. Worth a look at $85 each.
You can also look into getting NEXUS though the interview locations are mostly located near near the Canadian boarder, though a few cities such as Seattle and NYC have places you can go. It's only $50 (compared to $75) and includes Pre-Check as well as Global Entry.

When I got my precheck in January, I was given this info by the clerk who took my payment. She gave me a list of the credit cards. I would call chase and inquire.
Last year, our extended family of six flew to Florida for a Carribean cruise.
Through some mix-up, my mother-in-law (age 77 at the time) was on a separate reservation than the other five (all under 65), even though we were on the same flights.
The five on the one reservation got free pre-check for the flights.
