Does anyone know of any articles or any other information that goes through the changes that occured at/ or around Disneyland for the new park? I've looked around a little bit and can't find much. We haven't been since 2000 I think. We stayed at the Aladdin, which isn't there any more and I was wondering about the changes to the entrance, Katella st etc. When we were there we could see the construction on Tower of Terror from our hotel. I'm pretty familiar with the changes by now but would like to know specifically what was changed I guess.

Well ToT opened in 04, not with the park in 01. The entrance plaza hasn't changed that much since 04 other than little bannisters promoting the latest promo or attraction. There's still a giant esplanade separating the 2 parks.

If you were there in 00 (and it wasn't ToT) then a lot has changed. They have added Downtown Disney a long shopping mall with restaurants and shops and entertainment places. That's between the DL hotel and the giant esplanade. They've also added a whole new hotel, the Grand Californian that has its own entrance into DCA, so it's about as close as you can get to the parks.

Just from being on these boards-- I'm pretty familiar with the changes, but husband is going to be in for a shocker, and it's hard to really get a grasp on what exactly changed and where... we made 3 trips when our kids were little, the last being 2000. I remember seeing street maps of the expansion of Katella and that all the hotels on one side of the street were going to be demolished, including ours. I knid of get where generally DT Disney is but not how big it is. I remember going to the entrance from the big parking lot and walking on Katella to one. Is the entrance that is there now still the same one, just with CA Adventures Plaza thing added? You would think there's be something on the history on Katella street and what happened to it-- can't find anything online anyway.
