Does anyone have a pic of the BW area before the Villas were built? I can't imagine that open space in b/t BWI and S/D.

What did that area look like before any of the Crescent Lake resorts were built???

You might contact Werner Weiss yesterland.com, he has a lot of historical info.

The Inn and Villas were built at the same time. Before it was all developed, they ran a tram from the Yacht and Beach to Epcot, it was wonderful.

We have video of it.. my DF loved to video tape Disney....so we have lots of great videos from him..

But I remember we went in 1992 and took the boat from MGM to the BC and walked to Epcot from there and it was just open space. 15 years later we bought DvC at the BW site unseen because of that memory.. and I wasn't disapponted. I feel that DF is always with us at the BW and I was meant to own there..If he was still alive we would be enjoying lots of great memories there with him... He loved Disney...just as I do....

I remember the tram!! And yes it was wonderful. It is hard to believe that it was all just land and open space. I don't have pictures though. Those were from my 35mm and were on actual film. Who knows where they are now. :/

I wish they still had the tram.... it would be so cool taking it to DHS......a people mover would be cooler though.

I can remember riding on that tram and then later hearing about the Boardwalk resort being built and the whole concept seemed so cheesy and unDisneylike to me . Of course now we are BWV owners and it truly is my favorite resort.

LOL! I had been to WDW many times, but our first onsite visit was in 1995. We stayed at the YC and the BoardWalk was under construction. I remember thinking it looked odd and I would never want to stay there. Less than a year later we were there just weeks after it opened! We were able to book a 1BR and we were hooked.

I had completely forgotten about the tram! As much as I love the Friendship boats, after those long hot days in Epcot, it sure would be nice to have the tram service again! I'm just getting lazier and lazier..... :)
