Pre booking

Hi we are going on magic in May from Barcelona on our first cruise with DCL. My wife and I along with our boys 5 & 3. I have seen that I am able to pre book from next week. What should I be looking to book asap rather than waiting until being on board. The kids are excited for pirate night but I am worried I may book something on this night, will I be able to see the rotation plan early? Also is there a formal night etc.. thanks in advance

Pirate night should be displayed on your itinerary. Go to the 'My Reservations' page on the DCL website. Under your cruise there should be a link that says 'Details'. That will open a window that has the breakdown of the ports, the costs of the cruise per person (and taxes/port fees). On the day to day breakout, it'll list which night is Pirate Night and any other ship-wide celebration. I don't believe it shows which night is semi-formal and/or formal night. You can always call Disney, the CM will be happy to help you

Brilliant I hadn't noticed that on the itinerary I'm normally on the ball with things like that. Obviously don't want to be out all day on an excursion and not enjoy pirate night!

Formal night for cruises of 7 nights or longer. Sailing out of Barcelona, it is usually on the first sea day.

You want to book any Port Adventures you want as soon as you can as they do fill up. I understand you also sign your kids up for the clubs, but not having young kids I have no experience with this. There are a couple of meet and greets you need tickets for, you can sign up for those. If you want Palo, you can try for brunch or dinner. If it's full, try again once on board. I'm sure others will have more ideas and details for you. There's not a lot that we sign up for besides the shore excursions.

Someone on our June 2 Med cruise checked and formal night is the first sea day so I would expect it would be the same for you.

Besides what people posted above you may want to sign up for a character breakfast, which is no additional charge. There are also different spa packages you can sign up for.
