Pre-booking seats on Virgin

I know I've seen many posts regarding this subject before but they have never been applicable for me to read!
I am only 333 days away from our trip to WDW so I thought I could pre-book the seats. I have triple checked my booking No but I am unable to retrieve the booking. Any ideas why? Or what I should do?

From what I can gather this depends how you booked your flights.

If you booked your flights directly with VA you can access the seat plan immediately and choose your preferred seats with the reference number.

If you booked through Virgin Holidays or another TA, it's a possibility you may not be able to get into Virgins "Manage your Flights" web page until your tickets have been issued (approx 2 weeks before you go).

..........However, if you give Virgin Atlantic a call they will be able to prebook your seats over the phone for you.

I booked direct (by phone) with Virgin. I've been told to ring them for a 'locator code' 11 months before my return date which I can then use to book seats - not sure if this is by phone or on-line

During our last trip our friends booked with VH and we booked with VA. I phoned on their behalf and was given their flight indicator number, but this would not work until tickets had been issued 2 weeks before departure, then as if by magic, we could access the seating plan straight away.

Having said that we booked 2 years ago with VH, were given the flight indicator number by VA and it worked immediately.

So, heres keeping my fingers crossed for you xx

If in doubt, give them a call and prebook your seats over the phone just in case.

Hi

We booked with VH and when we tried to book our seats online our booking reference did not work. So we rang them and they gave us another reference number to use but as we were on the phone to them they offered to book the seats we wanted. Later, we checked online with our new reference number and everything was ok.

A year back I booked with VH and had the same, I couldn't book online called VH, they said they hadn't uploaded my tickets to VA, and would do so now.

I think VH have an allocation from VA but cannot upload until the flights become available at VA.

you will only be able to book your outbound flight seats at this time as your inbound will be outside the 333 day frame

Hi as said above they release the dates from the return flight so if you are going for 2 weeks you have to wait another fortnight and this time last year when we tried to do ours we were also told seats are only released on a WEdnesday so if you are flying on a Saturday and return on a Saturday you have to work the dates out from the final saturday and then move forward to the next wednesday to calculate your date.

Does that make sense?

I know VA upload the bookings from VH on a Wednesday but how often do VH send the bookings to VA?

I have this morning booked my fly/drive for September....will that be at VA by tomorrow for me to choose my seat? I want to try and get seats near to the front.........7A and 7K if at all possible.

Also does anyone know if travelling with an UC ticket booked with VH, does that still entitle us to take a guest each into the Clubhouse, as it does when booking with VA? We have had to book with VH rather VH so we minimise financial loss if we need to cancel due to DH's spinal problems that are not covered by insurance.
