Pre-booked activities. When are they charged?

Hello all! First Disney cruise coming in a couple weeks. I have an $800 credit coming from my TA that I get back after showing the on board spend.

My question is when do the items I have already booked ahead of time get charged? Massage apt, bippity boutique, royal court tea, etc....

Will these be part of my onboard spending, or are these charged beforehand and not included in my onboard spending? If I dont spend $800 onboard, I dont get this credit back.

Thanks for the help in advance.

They get charged to your onboard account so you can use your TA's onboard credit to cover them.

They are part of your onboard spending... I think the actual charge shows up when you do the activity. And gratuities count against OBC too, just in case you don't really want to do any one of those activities.

Anything that happens after you are onboard will be part of your onboard account. This includes excursions, spa treatments, BBB, Palo/Remy, beverage tastings, Royal Court Tea, onboard purchases at shops and bars, onboard photo purchases, and purchases at Castaway Cay (except for the post office, which takes only cash).

I think that pre-cruise purchases of stateroom gifts (which may be delivered to your room before you board) and photo packages are paid by credit card at time of booking, so they may not be on your onboard account. I am not sure about pre-cruise purchases of Rainforest Room passes. Onboard booking of future cruises cannot be charged to your onboard account, although they can be paid for with whatever credit card is on your account.

Basically, if you give a credit card for purchase before the cruise, the charge is immediate. If you reserve an activity on the website during your booking window, it will be charged to your onboard account. If you pay for something during the cruise using your Key To the World Card, it will be charged to your onboard account.

Thank you I was wondering myself

I realize this is an old discussion but I have a question.

If I pre-purchase an excursion through Disney, does my card get charged when I book it at home, or at the end of the cruise when I get my bill? I would prefer to pay for it before I even get on the ship so that I don't have to worry about it

It's charged to your onboard account once the cruise begins. As to specifically when the charge comes through on your credit card, it depends on length of cruise, and how many charges you have on your onboard account.

You can pre-purchase onboard credit to be applied to your onboard account (covering the cost of the excursion), if you wish.
