We haven't had the best of times the past 2 years. We were able to go to WDW twice last year - Feb 2009 was a no expense spared trip that was wonderful - we stayed at Wilderness Lodge on the DP and had 2 rooms for our family of 5 - including my MIL.
We were there in August for FD and stayed at POR - that was a shoestring budget trip - we drove down from Hamilton, ON - a lot cheaper than flights at the time - and we were very tight with cash.
My husband was laid off shortly before the August trip and has been out of work for a year. He is just starting back to work now. I lost my job in February and have since secured another FT position at 1/2 the salary.
We also lost my father in May 2009.
So, we are really hoping the job holds for my husband (in the skilled trades) and we can plan to go to Disney next year. We are hoping to go in early May 2011 - based on the boards, May is a pretty good time to go.
I am not sure if I should hold off and go in Nov/Dec 2011? I have always wanted to be in WDW for Christmas decorations/festivities, but the pull of WDW is to hard to ignore if I know we can go in May!
Any thoughts at time of year to go??? Should I hang on for yet another year?
