This is such a happy board it has given me many laughs reading everyones comments and replys. I have found it very (very) addictive and helpful. My son passed away this morning and my poor daughter-in-law's also dealing with the death of her grandfather yesterday. Hard to understand it all right now.

Please know that my prayers are with you. My DW and I went through a similar type of grief earlier this year and words cannot accurately express the level of sorrow I feel for your family...

From our limited perspective, tragedies like this appear to the be the end of everything and the world feels like a cold, dark, and a lonely place. As I told my DW, it is not for us to try and understand the meaning of losses like this, and we can go crazy trying to figure out why. For now, all we can do is try and think of new beginnings and trust in that higher purpose.

Take the time you need to grieve. Hold tight to your memories, focus on the good times, and remember that life continues to go on.
