My mother goes in Monday to have an endoscope done. They will be taking a biopsy and enlarging her esophagus. The upper GI she had done showed that her esophagus was closed 50%. The doctor says that if it turns out to be cancer, there is not much that can be done. Naturally, I am very worried. We pray for the best, but my mother has lost her appetite and feels very weak, so of course we can't help but be very concerned. These developments are the reason I had to cancel my trip to Dis Con. Please keep us in your prayers.

The endoscope did NOT find anything serious in the throat. What was found was 3 large ulcers in the stomach. They did a biopsy on them and we'll know in a few days what that shows. This is encouraging news, so far. We still do not know what is causing the pain in her neck. Thanks everyone for your prayers.
The biopsy was negative. So, once again, all we have to worry about is what IS causing her problems. Nothing besides the ulcers has shown up. Let's hope that the neck pain was just stress and that once the ulcers get cleared up she will gain back her appetite and regain her strength.
