You and your daughter will definitely be in my prayers. I won't hi-jack your thread with the details, but my niece (14) is going through a similar, very tough time with her bio. father and her step-mother who comes straight out of Cinderella.

It just brings me to tears to think that your DD has to deal with something like that at such a young age. I don't know if I could have done that when I was her age.
Like OP have said if she has a favorite stuffed animal or blanket, I would let her bring it with her. Also, I would do anything that morning before to make her feel more confortable. If she has a favorite place to eat breakfast or something that like. It's not the same exact thing, but it is something that stresses out my DS and I do this to calm him. From time to time his has to have blood work done. I listen to a morning show on the radio that you can go and watch them, and they have a girl that my son loves. Anytime he has to get blood work done, I take him to see their show. Then after the show, they come out and he gets to give her a hug.
Your a lucky mom to have such a strong and brave DD. Give her a big hug from us DIS's and let her know that we will be there supporting her in spirit.

So my lawyer's assistant called me Monday morning to tell me court was cancelled for Wed. I am pretty upset since this is weighing on all of us so heavily. She told me that my ex has just retained a lawyer (if you call it that) PRO BONO. I am so upset to say the least. This town does not have any type of legal assistance places, anymore. I am wondering how and why does he get a free lawyer while I have to pay 200.00 per hour for mine. AND he had 9 weeks to find a lawyer why oh why does he get the hearing postponed (you have to understand a quick background my ex is very hateful, creepy and downright scary to me, very few people get to see this side he is usually so smooth he had MY last lawyer blush and giggle..not my current atty) . So I get down to her office and shedoes calm me down by telling me that this atty is one of the best in regards to child cases. He usually defends the child. He is also interested in the child's best interest. My atty believes that she will be able to sit down with him and tell him the whole truth (not just what ex has told him). She thinks that when and if he does that he will convince my ex that supervised visitation is the best option that he will get. But she did assure me that if we do end up in court the judge will take my DD and both attys to his chamber where the attys will ask questions, they are not allowed to badger. Also the court system (at least here) does not allow either parent to witness testimony of a child when one of the parents is accused of something.
