I know many of us wish to continue to express our prayers and wishes to EmmasGrammy and family.

Mike just posted an update on the Sophie Update thread. Since there's been a suggestion that we leave that thread for updates lets use this one to express our continued prayers and best wishes for the family.

As you worship on Sunday, please remember to include Sophie and her family in your prayers.

As Mike said:
What I want to ask is that you contiue to pray for Sophie and petition God for a miracle for her, but understand that He knows what is best.

Thanks for highlighting the update from Mike. Sophie Grace and her family will certainly be in our prayers at church later this morning.

Continued prayers for a miracle for Sophie and her family during this difficult time.

Prayers to Sophie and her family from Arkansas. I kept your family in my heart and mind while at church this morning.

How wonderful that technology enables all of us worldwide to offer our prayers for little Sophie and her family. May God Bless her and all the family, and those taking care of her in hospital.Nat

I pray for this family daily,
I have a question though, please I don't mean to be rude, so please don't take it that way, I just wonder about the father, we really don't hear anything about him, is there a reason for this.
Also I know the fire started by the computer, but I never heard heard what happened, how did it start? Just has me concerned to take a look at my computer area, and make sure everything is ok.
Thanks, again no flames please

From what I have read the father was at work when the fire broke out, so nothing happened to him and that was why you don't hear anything about him. Amanda, Emma, and Sophie where at the top of the stairs. They believe Amanda was trying to save Emma and Sophie. I feel so bad for this family and pray for them a couple times a day.

The newspaper article said David left for work about 30 minutes before the fire started. Someone posted the contents of the article on the Sophie Update thread referenced earlier. When I talked to Amamda's sister Jennifer on Thursday, she said David was doing "as well as can be expected". We need to definitely lift this young man up in our prayers. The next several years are going to be difficult for him no matter what happens to Sophie. I just can't imagine the pain of losing your wife and daughter and having your remaining daughter in the critical condition Sophie is in.

CM Mom, that's a wonderful sentiment. I have been remembering Mom and the girls in my prayers, but I can't even imagine what poor David is going through right now. He will be included, and I pray that God can give him peace and the strength to get through what undoubtedly is the roughest time of his life.

Gracious Father we lift to you the family of Amanda and Emma; their father and grandparents and extended family and friends whose hearts ache at the loss of these precious daughters, we lift to you precious Sophie in that your will be done in her life and that she remains free from suffering and your awesome healing touch be placed upon her fragile body, we lift up David that your peace and presence be real in every moment during this tragedy and fill his soul with your guidance each and every day ahead of him

ohMom what a beautiful prayer for Sophie and family!

We continue to keep Sophie and the family in our thoughts and prayers. I think of the tragedy this family has undergone many times a day and say a prayer for them each time I do. I have been praying for David too. I can't imagine the pain he must be going through after losing his wife and 1 DD and having another DD in such serious condition.

If anyone wants to write out a prayer for Lynda, Mike, David, Sophie and the rest of the family and send it to me either by E-mail or PM I'll print them out and put them in a binder to send to Lynda and Mike. After a week or so when everyone who wants to contribute has done so, I'll mail it to them.

It has been too difficult to find words that had not already been expressed to post my hopes for Sophie's recovery & to give strength to her entire family. They have been in my prayers for the past week now and I have told everyone I know about her condition. Tonight my heart stopped when I saw that Mike has posted another update so soon but was relieved to see that it was another somewhat good report. This has affected me deeply this week making me look at my children a little differently and giving them both extra hugs, especially my almost 4 yo DD. I just cannot fathom how the family is coping except to know that God is there walking this path with them. Mike said that we must be giving God a headache with all our prayers. :) I will continue to do my part to keep that going.

Our family is also keeping them in our prayers. There can never be enough for anybody, and this family is definitely in need.

momasita... just wanted to help out. For your ribbon to appear you just need to add ] at the end of the signature, the last [/img].

I to have been thinking about Sophie, David, Lynda, Mike everyone all the time. I am not usually one to pray but a miracle is needed and if that is what it takes I am there every step of the way. May god be with Sophie and the rest of the family.

Can we post the prayers and encouragement here or on the Purple Ribbon thread so the Sophie Update thread stays easy to read for Mike to post his updates?

Mike, we all marvel at your grace under pressure and how well you represent your faith.

God does know best and we place Sophie in his hands.

Dear Mike,

Thank you very, very much for keeping us updated on little Sophie's progress. We pray that the decreasing of her ventilator goes very well, and pray for all of you all with our hearts. Please give Lynda a big hug for me.

DISers: You have all been wonderful with your thoughts and prayers. Please keep it up everyday (know you are), but post here also so Lynda, Mike, David, and their daughters know we are thinking and praying for them daily.

Praying for a miracle for Sophie and for your peace, courage, and comfort.

God Bless,

Barbara

Mike,

Thank you for taking the time to provide the update. I came online this morning expressly to find more info. about Sophie. Sophie, David, Amanda, Emma and all of your family continue to remain in my daily prayers.
