My MIL, who lives in FL, went to the hospital on Sunday (of course, she wouldn't go until AFTER she watched the Packer game!) for what they thought was pneumonia. Turns out, her heart is not working, due to scar tissue build up from rheumatoid arthritis, which is also invading her lungs. Basically she is suffocating. My DH's sister, who also lives in FL, called him this morning, and told him that the doc was sending her home either Friday or Saturday with hospice care to make her comfortable, as she is basically near the end (she is only 57, I believe, but has had chronic medical problems for quite some time). DH is flying down tomorrow with the kids (I am staying home because I have been sick and worn out from the chemo) so they can have one last family Christmas together. Awful news for this time of the year.
You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers! God Bless.
