Hi Everyone.

I have a small request, more for my children than myself. I have to have a cardiac stress test done today with the very good possibility of a cardiac cath afterwards.

The boyz, 13 and 11, are terrified. I have tried to explain that there are solutions to fixing my problems but they are still very worried. My oldest has an academic meet, regional, this weekend were he has to be away from home until Sunday. He has already complained with stomach problems this morning. The youngest is more resilient but none the less is clinging to me.

I do know that times like these can stress everybody out. It seems that there is a lot of love and concern in your family - a wonderful thing to see. Try to keep a calm front with your sons and let them know just what you are facing, in terms they'll understand. And give them all the hugs and loving they can handle.

I'm sure its scary for your kids. They obviously love you very much! My daughter, who is 13 now, has had heart caths almost annually since she was born and always has done great with them, even though she hates doing it. I hope you don't end up needing one though.
