My MIL is visiting from Seattle. She is 81, has a heart condition, and we all have been sick with the flu (yes, we had shots, probably made it milder). She came down with the guck on Friday and has been running a 101-102 degree fever. Today when she got up she was disoriented, short of breath, and her fever was 103. She claimed she was "fine", and she wanted to do her laundry since she is leaving tomorrow. Needless to say, my DH packed her into the car and off to ER she went. Diagnosis is severe pnemonia with an ear infection. Dr's said if she hadn't come in she would be dead. She is now in the hospital (under protest mind you). Doctors are saying 4-6 weeks to recover. She wants to fly home tomorrow.
Pixie dust and prayers for 2 reasons: 1) help her get well quick; and 2) help her realize that she can't live alone 2500 miles from us and that she can move here. We would LOVE to have her here. My FIL has been gone for 17 years, she has few friends left in the area (moved due to Navy obligations after WWII and never moved "back home" to New Orleans). We have a great church here for her, her only grandkids are here. DH is an only child. PLEASE send pixie dust that she will "see the light". Heck- we'd even take her to WDW!!!!!
