Prayer for the children

This is on our local news.

I am so tired of hearing about crimes against children, especially at the hand of their parents. How can a parent do this to their child. Pray for these babies, and get involved if you see or know about a child being neglected or abused.

And then the other day my DH got a call (fire dept) A woman left her car in the middle of the road, took the keys and left. 5 children in the car, ages infant - 4 yrs old, no car seats (except for infant), no jackets, one in a dirty diaper, hungry and crying. Left them with another woman (mother of 2 of the kids) she was high and drunk. My DH wanted to bring one of them home, she was two and she fell asleep in his arms. DHR was called. We don't know what happened to the kids, the mom in the car was arrested.

Those stories just break my heart but I have one that may turn out good. I know of this family of children, 5 of them ages 3-10. Grandmother has custody of them so that tells me parents are out of the picture and have lost parental rights. Well grandmother is dying and is on hospice service. They are hoping she makes it through the holidays. I mentioned this to a friend at church last week because I knew her son who is a preacher and his wife had 2 foster children that they were about to lose (given back to parents). Well they are now checking on adopting all 5 of these children. I am so excited and am praying it works out for them.

It is sad. Sometimes I wish there was some sort of licensing process to become a parent...There are just some people who should not be allowed to have children. It's such a shame that innocent babies have to be victims to things like that.
