This is sort of off topic, but not really since it has to do with Disney.

I'm going to Disney tomorrow to see my sister at CP, and then I'm coming back the next day. Right after that, I'm going to take the GRE. Basically, I'm coming home around 3, and taking the GRE around 5. I know, I'm a huge masochist, but there was not choice in the matter. My sister's graduating and this is the last chance I have to see her at CP. This was also the only time I could take the GRE before applying to grad school. I am studying like a mad person and praying that I will do well, but I will probably be freaking out on the way home. Right now, I'm questioning my judgment in deciding to go. However, I'm the one who got a dinner package a week before the show, so this confirmed that God wanted me to go.

I just need thoughts and prayers at this time. I have already experienced stress after stress this semester as well as a lengthy spiritual crisis. Aspies don't usually deal with stress well, so that makes it worse. I know there are people in this world suffering worse than I am, but it just feels really huge to me since my future is on the line.

Good luck!! :goodvibes

I am taking the GRE on the 27th, and I am starting to freak a little, so I know how that feels. Two days after Christmas...

What were we thinking?? :scared1:

Just rely on all that is good within yourself and you'll be fine. You already know a lot for the test and having the decompression time in your Disney "Happy Place" will be good for the soul. Tell yourself that it is okay to relax and reward yourself for the hard work you put in. Kind of like taking a vaction and going back to work the next day. Or like the athletes that can put on their "game face" when the whistle starts.

Things will go how they are meant to. If you don't pass and have to retake them, then that is a sign that there is still something that you need to do in life to get to the right place. If you pass, then that is an indication that all is in line for what is meant to be.

Does that help?

*sigh* I honestly don't know. What are you going to grad school for?

thanks for the encouragement, yellowponcho. I'm trying to keep that mindset, but I'm traveling with a neurotic mother. I hope I get some time to decompress.

Please don't yell at me...

Whats "CP" & "GRE"?

:confused3

I'd never yell at you, Geef. :thumbsup2

Candlelight Processional and Graduate Record Exam. The GRE's like the SAT for grad school.

I am going to get my Masters of Social Work. I would like to become a Liscensed Clinical Social Worker someday. I did my undergrad in Child and Family Studies, so I do not qualify for the advanced standing program here which means it will take me four years going part time.

I figure I am gonna be 4 years old whether I go now or not, so why not?

How about you?

Best of Luck! Don't let the stress get to you. If you have been studying like mad, then maybe taking a bit of a breather might help.

Remember to keep your vitamin C up, as stress can really throw your immune system for a loop (as shown by my nasty sore throat!)

Best of luck on the exam!

P.S. I don't deal with stress well ether, i just get sick!

Wow, you're brave to go into social work. I would not be able to do it. I'm going in for counseling psychology so that I can work one-on-one with kids. I'm very interested in play therapy.

Yeah, I'm popping Echanatia like candy. I will NOT get sick.

1100!!!!!!

I'm taking it again, but that's pretty good for what I had to go through.

Ooo. 1100 is a really good score. Congrats! :thumbsup2 I take it you want to up that, though, if you're re-taking?

I remember how I felt after mine a few years ago - hope you get some time to relax now. It's surprising how mentally draining 4 hours of 'click ... click ... click' can be.

Congrats! That's awesome!!! Does your program have a minimum requirement?

Mine doesn't have a min, and I have a friend that got in w/880, so I am just shooting for anythng above 1000.

I am really worried about the math portion. Now that you have taken it, did the study materials seem harder than the actual test? My friend seemed to think they were. I have been out of college for almost 6 years now, and I swear, my brain has turned to mush!!

The math portion wasn't terrible. You need to know your geometry and algebra, but there will be nothing above algebra II. Since the test is on the computer, they base what to give you on what you get right and wrong. The more questions you get wrong, then the easier the questions will be.

I got about what I expected to get. Psychology programs are not too strict about the GRE since there are not huge math requirements in the field. Most of the programs I'm applying for require 1000. I also feel you about the math thing. I'm taking all psychology and ministry classes, so there is not that much math involved. The last math class I took ruined my GPA because I got a C+. The only C my ENTIRE career.
