Lots to report tonight...I walked in to the room at 9 am, walked up to him and said "hi Ed" He opened his eyes turned to me and tried to reach for me..I told him I loved him and he said,I love you, as well as he could over the ventilator..He was basically awake and responsive all day.He was answering questions with nods reaching out etc..I talked the the kidney specialist who said that it could be weeks before his kidneys start to work ,but that is not unusual at all. And now for the best news...The ventilator is coming out!!!!!!!! If not tonight then first thing in the morning..The just have to get him weaned the last little bit of the way off of the vent and if it is not too late he's coming off tonight
I'm sure that must be a big relief to you both. He sounds like a pretty tough guy!. Good news Jenny.
