Hi, I wasn't really sure where to post this question but I figured since it involves a family of 4 this might be a good place to start. If I'm in the wrong spot, one of you nice Disney lovers will be able to point me in the right direction! I apologize if this is an ignorant question but this is only our 2nd trip to Disney as a family and our first with ADR's.

We managed to score PPO's for BOG and Akershus for our May trip. It just occurred to me that the buses probably aren't going to be running when we need to leave. We are staying at AS Sport and our ressies are at 8am for each restaurant. We will be driving so we will have our car if it is necessary but my question is two-fold. 1) What time do we need to leave our hotel to be at each park in time for our ressies. 2) At whatever time we would need to leave (I'm assuming y'all are going to tell me to leave at 7am at the absolute latest) will the buses be running? Or should we just plan on taking our car?

I want to have it planned out so I can discuss it with DH and he won't be shocked at the last minute when he realizes the buses aren't running at that hour of the morning.

Help a Dis newbie out please!

We had an 8am ressie at Crystal Palace in MK back in Nov 2015. I was going to take a taxi at the taxi stand, but a bus pulled up to the MK stop DH ran over and we took that instead saving on the taxi fare. we arrived in plenty of time. Talk to the front desk and ask what time the busses start running?

Parking at MK is not easy. You have to park at the ticket center and take the monorail which probably starts running at the same time or later than the busses. I would plan on the bus that day assuming they are running early enough. Epcot is easier to park at and you might want to drive that day.

Thank y'all so much! What time do the buses typically start running? I've read an hour before park opening but I've also read earlier.

REPOST this in Restaurants and you'll get lots of help.
Buses should start running in time for you.
Also watch park hours, many with BOG PPO get surprises when Disney changes morning hours to earlier.

We had no problem taking a bus at about 7am from POR to Epcot for ADR at 8am. We had plenty of time, and there was a CM at the bus stop asking where we needed to go and a bus followed shortly after that.

Thank you very much! I just posted over there as well!

The same thing happened to us. We had a 7am booking at Chef Mickey's and while we ordered a taxi from reception an MK bus pulled up at reception at 6.30am so we scrapped the taxi, jumped on the bus and he even took us to the entrance of the Contemporary Resort instead of MK bus station. We were so grateful.

I'm hoping we'll get lucky like that but I guess we can always plan for a bus and grab a taxi if the bus doesn't work out.

They say to leave an hour time for transportation right? So we need to leave our hotel no later than 7 for an 8am ADR?

FWIW, for MK PPO they will let you in the park around 7:40-7:45ish. "Ish" is a key part of that because it can vary a bit. Generally speaking I like to be arriving at security in the 7:30-7:40ish time frame. Some will arrive earlier than that but I don't like just sitting there in the PPO corral for too long. If the sun is up and there are no clouds, the sun points right at the area where they hold you and it can be surprisingly boiling, depending on the time of year.

If you end up taking a taxi, one alternative option is to have them take you to the Contemporary and then walk to MK, vs the cab dropping you off at the TTC and then having to ferry or monorail to MK.

I was actually thinking that if we took a cab we'd go to the Contemporary and walk across. Is the walk from there relatively easy and simple? Or am I going to be the fool who gets lost?

Yes, super easy. 8-10 mins max, quicker if you walk fast. The path is pretty self-explanatory and marked at spots.
