anyone paticurly(spelling????) like PPh the best

Like it is suppose to be nice but the least nicest compared to the GC and DH but it is the least expensive

and probably all we could afford what are some great perks about it?

The rooms are very nice; fresh, light, airy. There is a daybed in addition to the two regular beds. The pool is nothing special but the pool slide is quite unique and fun. The Japanese restaurant there is quite nice. It is a short walk through the GC to the park entrances or you can walk through Downtown Disney. There are character meals. The CMs are very pleasant. You get the advantage of Early Entry.

In other words, its Disneyfied.

Thats good its pretty expensive for being a decent hotel

would you go there or spend the extra money for DL?
??

Most of the other options around the park are motels. Basic places where you park your car nearby and have exterior corridors. If you are into that, then let that be your pleasure. I've said it here before, the "motel-ish" resorts at WDW are a huge step up in terms of amenities and theming than what is available around DLR for similiar money. Its not my cup of tea, but it works for many and maybe for you.

I also use AP discounts to stay at DLR resorts and thus do not pay rack rates. That makes a huge difference.

Well as I don't sleep alot it was great when we stayed there to watch at night them cleaning the Park and testing rides.

The Pool area is great for watching Fireworks,

And really it's a very short walk to DTD and the Parks.

Our first trip to disneyland, sept 07 we ate at the PCH grill for lilo and stitch character breakfast and we were impressed. Plus my two and four year old love lilo and stitch! My husband from the reviews did not want to stay at the PPH, however after our character breakfast he was impressed with the hotel and food. It is a very nice hotel to stay for your vacation! We cant wait to stay at PPH in December

we really enjoyed staying at the PPH. We liked the pool, the rooms were nice, and everyone there was really nice! We were also Concierge level there, and that was GREAT!!!:woohoo:

I have never stayed there, but I did want to point out that it isn't always the "least expensive" of the three DLR hotels. I once tried to book there because I thought it would be less expensive and the CM helping me on the phone actually quoted a lower price for a room at the DLH. It may depend on what kind of room (and/or view) you want, but it is definitely something to keep in mind when making your decision about where to stay.

Keep in mind that you should ask about all types of discounts such as AAA, Disney Visa Card, AP, etc. A lot of time, also, if you work with a Disney specialist they may be able to snag lower rates by continually checking rates.

We have stayed at all three Disneyland Resort Hotels. Our favorite was Grand Californian 9except rooms are smaller), then DLH, then PPH. I think the "theme" at DLH is more Disney than either PPH or GC. We have done the character meals at all three hotels, too, and they are all different. We like Goofys at DLH followed by Lilo and Stitch at PPH.

The final thing to consider is that if you are going during a super busy time of the year you are not guaranteed admission unless at the Disney hotels. Something which could be important depending on the time of year that you go.

Ok yea we are looking at going in February crowds are suppose to be pretty good.

So i think I will look into getting discount prices?

does anyone know if you hotwire has disney hotels?

There is a three day weekend the middle of February for President's day. If you can avoid that I would do so ... otherwise the parks are typically very crowded this weekend.

ahhh crap we were lookin on goin that weekend

Last year we went during MLK weekend in Jan. Great time to go we loved it, but we are going to be really busy that month...

so we want to go on a three day weekend....
We would have thought about going around the spring break time, but splash mountain is supposedly down that whole time every year due to refurb.....

Any other suggestions on going on a three day weekend at a good time?

Any three day weekend will be crowded. MLK is a bit different since it is so close after Christmas many people aren't up to traveling again so close to Christmas as they are recovering. I think that all weekends from President's Day weekend through mid-April will be rather busy due to spring breaks. Many are starting the end of February now and are scattered through mid-April. I think you should just pick one that works for you and give it a shot but I would get my reservations soon and then look for the price to go down. If you use a TA that specializes in Disney they will do that for you. In the past that is what we have done and it has helped. We did a package this past August with our tickets, etc. through Disney VISA and were able to get preferred seating at either the parade in DL or the electromagic parade in California Adventure ... that was nice. Also, had preferred seating at bugs life, alladin, the california show in CA (can't remember the name) and one other one plus an early entry into toon town one morning. It worked out well for us ... so that might be something to consider. Our TA set it all up and and we were pleased. We stayed at DLH this past trip.
