PPH Premium View: what else to request?

We are staying at the PPH in June, with the premium theme park view. Would you suggest any room or floor requests? Are all premium views created equal?

Our hope was for concierge level, but already sold out. Are those actually different rooms? Or just any room plus access to second floor lounge?

Any other recent recommendations for the PPH in general? We've been at DLH for our last few visits, with occasional meals at PPH. The last time we stayed there PPH still had the private entrance to the DCA pier, which dates it.

We're requesting 2 Queens with daybed, for our ever growing teenagers. Are microwaves available? Or just the fridge and coffeemaker? (Anyone know if PPH still has coffee pots, or if they have joined the pod craze?) We try to eat in our room when possible, to balance the "must have" meals and treats in the parks.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Happy 60th Anniversary!

I would keep trying for conceirrge room, it was sold out when we wanted it, the came available for standard so we took it, two weeks later premium came available so we took that. If you get conceirrge veiw, they will call you a few days before, ask them to give you a room without the bubble effect, don't know exactly what that means because we are here now and have no bubble effect, but some view rooms have a film that cause you not to see that well. Concierge is so worth the money, for us it was only $13 more a night, for three people, we use up more than $13 of drinks a day, they give you two or three waters each for the park, plus juice, plus soda if you want. We have spent less than $20 a day on food in the park. But we do go back to our rooms and we do use the lounge a lot.

Only problem we have had is the elevator one night and only one night after parks close. The line was out the lobby door, two huge problems with very rude and ignorant guest, one strollers, kids running around but will they fold the stroller for the elevator no, so only one family fits at a time. Two even ruder, everyone is waiting in line, people walk in from other side and cut off 100 people, then the next person does it and then another. It was awful, so frustrating. But the rest of the nights and in the morning I have had no problems.

We have some of the same questions as the OP. Does concierge level have any impact on what rooms you can get? We haven't booked yet, and could try to flex our schedule around concierge availability.

Do the Concierge Lounge hours change with the park hours at all? Other posts report hours of 6:30 am to 8:00 pm. With early entry beginning at 7am during our trip, shouldn't we leave the hotel by 6:30 am to get through security and in a good spot in line at the main gate? And 8pm seems awfully early to close for most people, although not so bad for our early bird family.

I found an older post recommending to ask for a Premium View corner room. Does that still make sense? We have younger children, so will probably be watching WOC from our room some nights. Looking at a map it seems like we would want to be at the southern /Mickey's Fun Wheel end of the PPH, as opposed to the northern /GCH end?

(Unless there are some rooms on the northern end where you can see the fireworks without having to go down to the pool?)

Concierge does have an influence of what room. Standard conceirrge is floor three, back of hotel, you get a cabana deck out of sliding glass doors and the pool is right there.nice if you eat in room a lot since you would have a deck with table and four chairs. The othe standards are again in the back of hotel floor 14 and 15, over looking pool. The view rooms are on 14 and 15, overlooking pp. As for the rooms, they are the same size as all the other rooms, no bigger. Most suites are on 15th floor they are bigger. As for fireworks, you can go to end of northern hall, and step out onto a stairwell and watch fireworks, great view from 14th floor.

They do not change there hours 6:30 to 8. For us we have two days that park opens at 7. But since for us both times are dca, it is not a problem because only hotel people are able to get in. So we are there first thing, grab what we want, need and still get to the park in time. Not if it was DL, you would be a little more rushed. So if you want the golden hour,mi would go to DL for two hours then back to hotel and eat from 9:30 to 10, you would still get breakfast.

For us we eat breakfast at 6:30 head to park, come back at 1or 2 grab snacks, nap, eat dinner at 5 and go back to park. It has saved us tons of money. We have only spent $20 in park on food for three of us. The give you snacks, water, soda, juice to go all the time.

By the way the walk from hotel to security is less than 6 minutes, so when it is only EE for dca, you can take 15 minutes in lounge and still be there early enough. But there is also lots of grab and go food, bring some baggies and you can grab pastries, muffins, juice, coffee, fruit and eat it as you are in line. I think it is because most people do not get up to early. We are always the first ones there at 6:30 and no one else ever shows up till after 7 when we are leaving.

I would also like more insight on requesting a corner room and such.

Oh, good, nice to know that you can get to both breakfast and early entry - at least at DCA.

Now we just have to cross our fingers and hope that concierge becomes available during our stay.

Thanks!

Concierge does have an influence of what room.

So that means there's no way to add concierge lounge access to an existing reservation? There aren't any concierge rooms open right now for our desired dates.

Can we add an upgrade request to a reservation, or should we just check the website periodically to see if any rooms have opened up due to cancellations?

As for corner rooms, I have seen the one next to me, I don't like it. The beds are at a weird angle and there is no sofa for a fifth person. I assume that is a corner room. The ones at end of halls you would assume are corners, but it would give you no advantage, not like at most WDW resorts because there corners have extra windows, not so in DL hotels PPH or grand hotels. The corner rooms, are next to the elevators, and because the walls angle in near the elevators, they angle in for the rooms, making it impossible to put the beds coming out from the wall lik they do in all hotel rooms, so the beds are against the angle wall, and directly face the window, to me weird but some might love it, but again since the beds come out at a weird angle you can not get a sofa for a fifth person so anyone who wants a sofa needs not to ask for that kind of room.
