hey my first post on here... I planning on going back to the big DL in late june and i'm having a hard time deciding between PP and DH... I've stayed at the GCH but i would like to try something different this time.. thanks

Who is in your group? If you have kids, I really recommend the DLH for the fun pool and the larger rooms. There are grounds to walk around, feed the koi, explore the waterfall area, play with the remote jungle cruise boats, hit the playground a bit, being close to Goofy's, the little coffee shop that sells cereal, milk and fruit is handy....but I love the park view from PP upper floors.

If you are adults who mostly stay at the park all day, I'd pick the PP just for the view. You won't need all the extra room and it really is cool to watch the park open and close and see them doing all the work at night in CA. Once we saw the park close and then reopen a few hours later for a private party-wish we had binoculars-lol. Usually the prices go (from Least to most expensive) PP standard-then DLH standard then PP park view then DLH Resort/pool view so really it depends on your budget too.

1st pick for our family-DLH resort view of DTD in Sierra Tower in a room with 2 queens and a daybed and then we get the free rollaway.

2nd choice-PP park view but we have to give up the rollaway since the room is too small to allow it. Must be a big savings to pick this over DLH.

thank you soooo much for the detailed view of both hotels.. It will be myself and my girlfriend going on the trip. I looked at the DH and it looks like it has more to do there then PP. So it looks like i'm leaning more towards the DH. thanks again..:)

shyboy, I totally love DLH...Ive stayed in all 3 properties...PP is the farthest of the three and to me its just ok...there are so many other properties that are much nicer and offer more for the same price...but there is NOTHING like DLH...its disney magic 24 7....the decor is all disney, and especially if you get a pool room view it overlooks the neverland pool...they have more restaurants there...I do like GC, it is very luxurious but face it, its darn expensive...I was very lucky to get such a great AP deal on GC for a couple weeks ago I couldnt refuse but I kept going back and forth with staying there or DLH because I love it so much...stay at DLH...its sooooooooo worth it...and make sure you get wake up calls so my mickey can call you:love:

oh and btw...welcome to the dis!!

and if you are in the Peter pan pool at night you can see tinkerbell shining in the pool. .

I am a HUGE disneyland fan... I cannot break myself away to do US...I did go one time and it wasnt worth it to me...since then Ive heard it isnt good anymore either but I dont know...try checking on southern california theme parks thread....you should be able to get more info...but congrats you lucky devil getting to stay at DLH...even though they cant guarantee it, if you can afford to get pool room view...I recommend requesting Marina Tower...to me its the best out of the three towers...;)

Lynn~ Does DLH do something with Tinkerbelle by the pool??? I thought I read that somewhere. And something about a water fountain or water fall???

your thinking about when they used to have the water show at the fountains by the Bonita Tower but thats long gone...they do have waterfalls in front of the Bonita Tower that you can walk down and around...very nice...at night they have different colored lights...as far as tinkerbelle...I never go swimming but I think if your in the pool itself, there is a reflection of tink in it...

Yes, you will love DLH! As I said, I love the DTD view because you can see the fireworks from the room and also a good deal of the parks but with just 2 adults, you will probably not be in the room as much as we are with 2 kids.

I loved US! Not as much as DL but still it was a really fun experience. Here is what I know, do the tram tour first! The lines get longer as the day goes on so the earlier that you do the tram, the better off you will be. Then do the lower level rides and that whole section then finish up at the top and save a bit of time to see the shopping area called City Walk. It might be a good place to have dinner before you head back to dl but if you are doing the shuttle tour thing, your time will be limited. Getting there is always a guess because of the traffic. I remember it taking as little as 45 minutes and as much as 2 hours in bad traffic-ugh. I went on the bus once years ago and it was fine(I was so glad I was not driving) but just know that you will be limited so pick the things that you really want to do and see, just don't miss the tram ride! We liked some of the shows but check out their website before hand to get an idea of what you would most like to see. (If anyone else is reading, my kids were too little when they were around 4 & 7 and everything was scary to them-not good, go to legoland or seaworld instead!)

Thank you soooo much for being soo helpful.. :) i just can't wait till we go again.. our mini trip was just last month but you can't just go once a year hahaha..

If you look into the pool at night there is a projection of tinkerbell. They used to have a dancing waters show that was wonderful with music and colored lights that we loved but not any more-boo. They do still have a really beautiful waterfall grotto that you can walk through and the kids really love it. You take little footpaths with railings around and behind and under the waterfalls but they close the paths with little chains at night because it does get slippery and you can get wet from the spray. Right next to the waterfall, there is a koi pond and every Tue and Thur you can meet the feeder there at 9:30 in the morning and feed them. It is so cool because they actually come up out of the water to take the food from your hand while you are kneeling on a little platform-perfectly safe and fun and never crowded because you should be at DL by that time! Remember too there are 2 adjacent pools on the other side so if the big pool is crowded or cold, check those out because we have found them to be warmer and never crowded. That is where the small playground structure is too and the sand area with the volleyball nets and also the laundry so you can hang by the pool if you have to wash clothes!

Man hearing all these great things about it is going to make time go by very slow.. hahah. How are the restaurants there as well as the bars?? also any shops inside the hotel...

oh yeah...restaurants are good...goofy's kitchen great for character meals, steakhouse 55, crocs bits and bites by the pool, well rather in back of ittheres also the lost bar and a bar/lounge right inside next to goofy's kitchen, the wine cellar etc......theres fantasia inside the marina tower and they sell most things you can get in the park...its good for when you need an autograph book or poncho....and they sell souveniers...also there is a little sundry store that stocks snacks, medicine, things you forgot or need ie bengay:rotfl: dont forget though that you will end up going through dtd so there are a ton of places to get snacks and dine...I would stop every night on the way back and get food...one night I went to la brea bakery and got a ham with gruyere cheese panini, another night it was pretzels from wetzel pretzels, another night went to Naples for pizza... the choices are endless....
