Now that I have convinced myself to stay onsite (it's me alone on a business/vacation trip), I have booked PP at 99.00 for a theme park view, 3 nights. Is DLH that much better for $169.00 a night? GCH is too high for just myself. All the negativity towards PP has got me nervous.

Thanks for all the help.

Paradise Pier Hotel is a good choice for people who want to sleep at Disney, but not spend too much. It is decorated with conceptual artwork of Paradise Pier. The hotel has two restaurants the PCH Grille has character meals and California cuisine (I think) for dinner. There is also and excellent Japanese restaurant there called Yamabuki. The pool is boring. If swimming is important to you you can use the pool at the DLH. Call them to verify if this factor will decide your stay. PP and DLH are very close to each other. The main reason for the DLH higher price is the themed pool and its proximity to the monorail stop.

PP Hotel has its own private entrance to DCA. You must cross the steps and follow signs. It is near the entrance to the Grand Californian.

Hope this helps.

While Paradise Pier is my least favorite Disney hotel in Anaheim it is a nice place. The decore in the rooms is not frilly and is pleasent. The room is comfortable. My main problem is that it doesn't really have much to it other than the pleasently decorated tower. The rooms at the Disneyland hotel are bigger and mor fun and a touch more formal feeling with lots of Disneyland touches. The grounds at DL hotel are extensive and pretty and some of the views are real good. HOWEVER you got a Themepark view at the PP and those are awesome views and for $99 a night that is great!!! We had a room on the 13th floor with a view of DCA a couple months before it opened and the had some of the Paradise Pier ride lights on and it was great then. I would keep the room you have booked.
