I really hate to even ask this question as its way TMI, but my son is stressing over a toilet issue. Let's just say that when we go on vacation normally we bring our heavy duty plunger. Just the way he seems to be built. Since we can't do that for the cruise, how powerful are those stateroom toilets? Lol. Sorry if I've grossed anyone out.

You bring a heavy duty plunger with you on vacation. Never heard of anyone doing that. But don't worry on Cruise ships they have a powerful flush. People eat a lot on a cruise so they have very big bowel movements and it takes it down with no problems.

Yes. We usually rent a condo on the beach so we bring it in case there's an issue. We know ours works well and the ones the condo owners leave are usually the cheap kind.

My father warned us after he went on his first cruise (before we'd cruised) that the toilets sound like (his words) a jet engine firing. So I was anticipating it on our first cruise. He's right. It can startle you quite a bit in the middle of the night if someone else gets up although you get used to it and start to tune it out.

Okay, my son (8 yo) clogs the toilet every time he poops. Nothing wrong with him either and no solutions that have worked. Is what it is! Seriously, it's quite something actually. I've been known to have to resort to plastic cutlery to break things down. I joke in my next life I'm going to marry a plumber. Anyway, I was a bit panicky about this when we went on our cruise and the toilets flushed his monstrosities no problem.

Thank you!!! One less thing to stress about.

Are plungers on the prohibited item list?

There is a joke often told on cruises that the toilets flush so powerfully that men worry about losing their "manhood" parts........now, don't tell your son that obviously because he will have something else to worry about but assure him that he will have no issues :) :)

If a clog is a concern..... what about using the balcony? Lots of bushes... especially around the AK inside passage.

They are powerful, but still didn't handle one offering my 11 year old had last month. I needed to wad up a lot of toilet paper and give it a good push for it to get it to move. :crazy2:
