A co-worker told me that they think the PR are at MGM. Is this true?? My sons would love this.

Yup, it's true, or at least it will be in the future. They are casting for them as we speak. There was a sign up in the entertainment breakroom.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please say it isn't true! I hate Power Rangers. They are forbidden in our house - the imaginary play that comes after watching them causes pure trouble (like delaying the school bus while "talking" on the watch and waiting for all the PR to board, or seriously hurting his brother doing PR moves.)

I didn't think PR had any association with Disney. Please tell me it isn't so!

YEEEEEEEAAAAAAAA!!! My DS7 is going to be so excited. He is a brown belt in karate and loves to watch them doing their moves. Power Rangers are on ABC and ABC Family so that is the Disney link.

Wow! More character to find! :teeth:

I totally understand what LisaBi wrote! I did day care back in 1993-1995, and the Power Rangers were new and very popular then. Half the little boys in the nursery were doing karate moves and scaring the other kids!

It is suprising that Power Rangers have maintained their popularity after all these years, so much that Disney would get them in the parks! Wonder if they will sign? :scratchin:

I know the Disney Store started selling PR stuff, and I think they may show them on the Disney Cartoon Channel. I don't let my 4 year old watch. He has played with neighbors who do the PR moves, but my son gets a little out of control and starts hitting and kicking. I want to keep him interested in Tigger, Blues Clues, and Wiggles as long as I can.

Having the Power Rangers in the park would make my sons day !!!!!!!!!!!! The expression in his face would be priceless.

I hope they are there by the time we go in oct. I missed MGm on our last trip so the incredables and power rangers will be a great addition to this trip. he jsut loves meeting all the characters.

My DS8 will be so excited too. Hopefully they will be there for our trip in June :wizard:

We can't agree more! I've seen young boys role playing with PR kicks and trouble is a bit of an understatement — especially inside. My wife is a kindergarten teacher and PR role playing is forbidden at the school. We do not let our son age 3 watch them either. I was sorry to see that Disney purchased the PR franchise when they got Fox Family Channel (now ABC Family Channel). I guess Mr. Eisner is more about buying washed up characters than developing great Disney entertainment.

I think that would be GREAT if the PR were to make appearances in WDW!! I was hoping to see them anywhere in WDW on our last trip. Way to go Disney!!! :) :) :)

DS is 6 1/2 and just began watching PR. I too would not allow them to be watched when he was younger. They are rated Y/7 so the producers are aware that the show may not be appropriate for younger viewers.

With that said, DS will be thrilled! And yes, Toon Disney shows the PR, they are part of Jetix. Prior to this year, he only watch PlayhouseDisney, so I totally understand those who are opposed to the PR.

My son is 7 and is JUST starting to get a "little" out of his ongoing (for years) obsession with Spiderman and digging PR now. He doesn't do any of the fighting/kicking though. He just likes watching the cartoon occasionally and has the Disney PR shirt... oh and we bought PR tennis shoes recently since our new dog chewed a hole in one of his shoes. LOL
He'd probably like seeing them in person. Think they'll be there by June?

I just told my son and he is very excited. I will probably get flamed for this but it really drives me crazy when people say they won't let thier kids watch PR because it causes them to fight. I am all for sensoring TV watching and I would not let me kids watch certain shows when they were younger. But come on PR is good vs evil, there is no foul language, there is no blood. We explained to our kids that the PR rangers were using thier martial arts moves to defend themselves and others against bad people and this is the only time martial arts should be used. They understood this and there was never a problem.

Did any of you watch the coyote blow up the road runner as a child? Did you go out and blow up people?

Thanks for the info. My DS will be thrilled. At least there will be something a little boy oriented. I mean come on they have 200 princess meals, teas, shows etc etc and virtually nothing for the boys. About time WDW did something for them. Hopefully a Toy Story character meal or now PR meal will be in the works soon.

AngieBelle~ any idea when this will happen??

I'm not sure...my guess would be some time this spring since they are just starting to cast them.

There have been rumors of them coming for at least a year or two- I wasn't sure if it was true or not for a while. I think PR and Disney are an odd combination, but que sera sera.

I think that if a child is immitating PR, then a karate class may be a good idea. Children can learn the correct way to use self defense. My sis took karate when she was 9 and made it to a yellow belt. Some theatres also might teach stage combat which shows you how to imitate those moves without actually hurting someone. Just a suggestion...I don't have any kids myself.

My boys are currently 14 and 16, Power Rangers were a big part of their little boy years. Kids grow up to quickly. I'm wondering how much I can bribe them to have their pictures taken with the Rangers now. They may not need them but I need to recapture their youth. :lol

I agree, but have you explained this to a three year old recently? PR is very enticing for very young children. The divide between reality and make believe is still forming. When parents take the time to watch and learn with their children, you are absolutely right. Explaining right and wrong is important to developing minds. Parents must be able to choose when and were they want their children exposed to violence and next to JoJo's Circus is probably not the right time or place. Just as I won’t have my 3 year old ride the Tower of Terror, I won't expose him to PR or encourage him to watch the program until he is better able to determine when fighting is appropriate. Kindergarten and pre-school ages are not appropriate in my opinion. Hopefully Disney will position these characters away from the young children areas of the Disney Studios.

my son is THRILLED!!! i just told him that the power rangers might be coming to stay at disney world and his reaction was NO WAY MOM !!! he is gonna be 5 in a week and if he could meet them when we go in october he wouldnt know what to do!!!
