Power Outlets / Phone Charging

With the advent of Genie, are there any reliably available outlets to charge phones? I have a power bank, but it’s so much quicker to use an outlet.

And a related question, what is your favorite small/lightweight power bank to use in the park?

Do they still sell the returnable ones?

Fuel Rods are still available thru out the park.

I use Anker chargers, my preference. There are a few outlets thru the park, but as soon as they become known, you find people sitting there with their phone plugged in. My anker charger charges the phone quickly and I can plug in and keep moving.

There are very few power outlets in the various parks. The ones you'll find aren't in a convenient area to stand around for a while either.

Another vote for Anker brand (search Amazon, they have many different sizes/capacity). I try not to go 'super cheap' on chargers as it is powering your phone and don't want any battery damage.

Fuel Rods are still for sale, and swappable at Disney:

There are very limited actual power outlets, and not exactly setup for guest use.

Is your phone quick charge compatible? You mention it's faster using an outlet so I imagine it is. I'd suggest buying a power bank with quick charge capabilities. I have an Anker that will charge my phone from dead to full in about 30 minutes.

There are not many outlets around the parks.

I saw a couple plugged in and sitting on the ground outside the stand/shop that's next to the exit to philharmagic. Not sure if that's allowed, tho since I would think these aren't meant for public use.

Thanks, I do have an Anker but it's several years old and doesn't charge in 30 minutes. I have an iphone 12. Sounds like I just need to upgrade my Anker.

They also just start slowing down over time. I'd get a new one and make sure it's quick charge capable, specifically. Some of them are not. The cable you use also needs to have that capability.

Definitely get a new battery pack. I think mine is Anker too and it’s awesome. Sadly, I forgot that I had dropped it in the pool and I realized at Disneyland that it no longer works. I was forced to buy the FuelRod batteries they sell in the park. Boy, was that thing useless. It took forever to charge and never gave me anything remotely close to a full charge before it ran out of power!

Those Fuel Rods are overpriced garbage. They are like those freebie lipstick sized chargers you get with purchase.

Look for a USB-C port marked PD (Power Delivery), and use a USB-C to Lightning cable.
OR use a Mag-Safe battery (case must be compatible). Apple version works well, but expensive.

Can someone please link a good Anker? I've looked on Amazon, but overwhelmed with the search results and since I've never had a portable battery charger, I am not sure what I am looking at.

We have these. They are about the size and shape of most phones (thin and long) and will charge most phones fully twice.

If you do find a power outlet around the parks, do not use them, the power isn't always clean (especially at Disneyland) and can damage your electronics. You are much better off using a power bank or getting a fuel rod.
Good to know, thank you

I use a fuel rod, it may not do the best with charging the phone quickly but it keeps my phone from dying and I can always swap out for another one when it depletes the power. Best $20 I spent 4 years ago for how frequently I swap mine out. Swaps are still free at Disney parks, but they are not elsewhere unless you are grandfathered into unlimited swaps.
